This isn't entirely true, clock speeds still matter on desktop systems right behind cache size. Intel's CPU's are better in comparison to AMD's offerings but are still more expensive. This is where AMD has a slight advantage in cost/performance and also the fact that they aren't switching sockets every single ing year. That get's real old. How long has AM2/AM3 been around?? A very long time.

at judging a processor by it's clock. Those days haven't been around for 3+ years.
