He is right one one thing,
there is always an idiot team,
easy to pick, easy to steal.

    I'm more curious though,
    on why an otaku paki,
    (as I've been told),
feels he is part at all,
of NBA talk, fun and giggles?

I'd sign Sessions for 3 years, 25 mil & team option. If he does well in the playoffs, maybe a more lucrative contract.

How far over the luxury tax are the Lakers? I know they were trying to salary dump Gasol before the deadline. Its actually going to be interesting to see how LA deals with Brown as HC and a cap that actually has bite.

We'll see how well he does in the playoffs ...
That is the key. The thing is he has shown that he can be clutch in the 4th quarter. This is with or without Kobe out there. He's hungry after being shafted by his previous 3 clubs. He's also 26 years old - so there is a maturity factor there. Kobe trusts and endorses him.

We'll see how he does. If he performs - as I expect - he'll own the Lakers' starting PG spot for the next several years. Terrorizing teams with 24 year old Baby Drew.

He's no better than 4th option at best depending on PG matchups. All he has to do is pick his spots and dish to KGB. He can do that.

Cubby I'm really really excited about the potential of him and Bynum. Bynum needs someone to get him the rock. Sessions can do that and is quick enough to get his own shot - especially with the doubles/triples Bynum has been commanding as of late.

I'm looking forward to the playoffs this year. The Lakers (and Sessions in particular) have something to prove.

I'm not so sure about Kobe "trusting" his brand new teammate. He's always had trust issues and probably always will, which is why he's still hoisting up as many shots as he does.

Sessions needs to show he can compete with Kobe's ego in high pressure situations or else he'll be relegated to Steve Blake's status in moments where he needs to shine. That's what Fisher was really good at doing. Same goes double for Bynum. This isn't 2009 anymore and the Lakers aren't a deep team. Every player needs to play his best if they want a deep playoff run.

Though Kobe did trust Artest. That's how the tired of bag Duncan got the awful end of 5-4.

    tee, hee.

Ramon is not worth $8 mil a year. Moreover, you guys will have Bynum to take care of next season (in season, mind you). And i'll bet he will asking for the max with the way he is playing.

That's way too much. And seeing that you're an Uncle Tom, boot licking House ... I'm not surprised at all.
Frontrunner showing up again with the hairbrained analysis. Stay in the back of the bus, take my boots with you - they are dirty.

Yep, Kahn gave Sessions a player option on the last year of 4yr/16M deal. Stuff happens.

The best FO in professional sports gave Richard Jefferson a player option on the last year of a 4yr/40M deal.

Sessions getting 4yr/16M was based on his potential and not his results. He also didn't have a field of teams pampering him with gifts and massages. No reason to give him a player option when the teams have the leverage.

The RJ situation was kind of tricky. The FO knew they had to inject some youth and talent into our roster. Although RJ sucked during his first year, the sample size was too small to declare a complete failure. So at that point, RJ's bird rights was a clear and only way to add someone with talent. We also had to use most of our MLE on Splitter so we didn't have much left to go after someone else. So letting RJ go would have left us without a capable SF. In hindsight it was definitely one of the worse contracts ever handed out in Spurs history though.

Well the Lakers salary dumped Odom so they won't have to pay the $4.25 per dollar cap penalty but I expect that with Bynum due soon and Sessions, Barnes and the rest of the 'bench' as impending FA they will be paying $3.25 per dollar cap penalty in short order. Will be interesting to see how high they will be willing to go.

And needing Bird rights to pay for Sessions.
