    He almost muffed it. Casillas got a touch but it just was thin and it slipped right past him. I think Heynckes didn't want to take chances.

    Maybe you're right. But he made it and played a solid game after he scored. I was surprised.

    But Bayern has a bunch of very good penalty shooters, including Kroos and Lahm normally. I was most frightened when it was Gomez' turn.

    Also what is up with the Bernabeu pitch? Lots of players slipping and sliding.

    They prepare the pitch to conditions favoring the home team in the La Liga but shouldn't it be of uniform standard for the Champions League?
