Whedon worked directly with the animators, to get the hulk right, and they were telling him how no director had ever given them direction the way he did
Also, I was WAY wrong about Mark Ruffalo. I know the Hulk's best scenes involve CG and not actual acting, but I thought he was a better Banner than Ed Norton. They did wonders for the character in this movie.

I saw it at midnight and it was pretty much bad ass from the first scene to the last. This is definitely one of those movies where if you gotta piss, hold it till the end.
Almost went to see it again tonight and then decided I'm way too tired.
I'll probably see it again myself. I went to a noon showing today, and some parent decided to bring their infant to the theaters. The baby kept on crying up until the alien fight scene. It was really annoying.

I've learned totrust marvel studios after this one. Did not ing expect them to bust out the big boys so soon, but I'm glad.

If they're going where I think they are, it'd make sense. He could easily fulfill his own role plus that of Adam Warlock.

But I do have a couple of minor things to about. While it was still damn entertaining, not everyone needs to have snarky one-liners. It makes the character personalities blend too much, and nearly every character with more than a handful of lines had them. In particular when Scarlett uttered a one-liner in the ending action sequence felt out of place, and was the only real cringe-worthy moment in the film.
Also the beginning of the movie just felt off to me. It didn't captivate or draw my interest, imo there was too much going on and the viewer never got invested enough into the scene.
Anyway Joss Whedon ftw. It shouldn't have been a surprise to how awesome this movie turned out to be, even with a smorgasbord of characters. His experience from Serenity and tying up all the characters stories shows off big time, and that too is one of the best paced and one of the funnest scifi movies around.

I missed the dark knight trailer, and when I came back to my seats with drinks, my girl didn't even remember it, but said the expendables 2 looked good

It will be interesting to see how they can do Thanos unless they completely change his origins... and reduce the power of the Infinity Gauntlet.
You rarely see Thanos in comics without the other half of the Marvel Universe integrated into the story e.g. Silver Surfer, Galactus, Fantastic 4... so unless Disney can buy the rights or strike a deal with Fox (Fantastic 4, Silver Surfer, X-Men) and Sony (Spider-Man) for the rights to the entire Marvel Universe....
... and then the Infinity Gauntlet... when all the Gems are collected, the user gains dominion over the universe. Thanos absolutely wipes the floor with the Avengers in the beginning of that story arc... so I'm scared another great villain will be shat upon.
i watched it at the 8am showing...it was bad ass....as i left there was a huge line...i turned to my bro in law and said..."i cant believe Thor died". the faces were priceless.
