You know Finley wanted to beat them extra hard. See his celebration in the Manu shot

I dont think the 04' Pistons were as dominant as the 05' Pistons tbh. They were still elite defensively but they got Sheed at the deadline that year, he had a better season in 05' with a full season under his belt with the team. They also signed Dice for the 05' season. They dominated during the regular season that year and the playoffs until they ran into the Spurs. In 04' they kind of came out of nowhere, the win over the Lakers was a pretty big upset at the time. Kome being Kome helped alot too.

04 Pistons had Mehmet Okur coming off the bench. They were shutting down teams to the extreme after the all star break when they got Wallace. The main thing I remember is the Pistons bench being much better in 04. 05 relied a ton on their starters.

If If If.....Tim Duncan's Dad wears a condom than the Spurs are still le-less. There are hundreds of situations that change the course of a team's history.

The Spurs would have lost game 7 in SA vs the Lakers, that team was better than the Spurs, they just had more talent. The Spurs won the first two games, but by then Phil figured how to contain Parker. The mistakes were to let Jack go and sign Rasho to replace DRob instead of Miller.

But the Spurs should have won it all in 06.

Both the 0.4 and the and1 were on Pop. While Bowen and Turkoglu were at the bench, Devin Brown and Manu were guarding Kobe and Fisher. And Pop should have told not to foul an 2 pt attempt.

That Lakers team had no chance of winning if 0.4 doesnt fall. Especially considering the fact that the Spurs had mounted a huge comeback that culminated with Timmys near gamewinner. Have you seen the way Laker teams have reacted when their back is against the wall this past decade?

What about that Kings/Lakers Series or Blazers/Lakers?

Tim hit a lucky shot. Then Fish followed suit. if anything, blame the Spurs clock operator.

If Horry hit the last shot during Game 5 of the 2003 West Semi-final, would the Lakers have won four straight?
Who knows, that Spurs team didn't seem to be weak minded like that would effect them IMO, but on the other hand when you if he would have made it may have deflated their demeanor a bit.

I knew that shot wasn't going in that game. Y'all had run him into the ground that year due to lack of depth, and he'd been short-arming 'em like crazy for most of the series.

By the same token, I think all of these what ifs are pointless from our end too.
