I've been going back and forth on starting Leftwich or Brees in my fantasy league...I just went with Brees.
You may have to hold your nose, though. They're playing the sorry-ass Texans.

If we don't get a team of our own, I'll still be a Texans fan. I'll watch the Jags today because the Saints aren't on for 3 hours and we may end up with the Jags down the road. Who knows? It's all NFL so it's all good. Beats the out of bowling. Or that Pro Dart freaking bunch of crap I found one afternoon of channel surfing.
HEY HEY, i still love my Texans....![]()
Actually McKensie there was a recent atricle that said the Jags and Jacksonville settled out of count on their stadium deal so their staying put in Jacksonville...![]()
Crap. Oh well. Let's just hope the Cardinals don't look this way. That would really suck.

TEXANS and SPURS, Damn Straight!!!!!
I think that was just over this current revenue spat. They have been listed among teams who have "outs" in their lease, or a lease that is expiring altogether in the next few years. Minny, Jax, SD, Buffalo, and NO were those listed. I think they are still "in play" until the city decides to replace their disreputable excuse for a stadium.
Here was the latest i read...I had to subscribe to get the article.

MAYOR, JAGUARS STRIKE A DEAL
Peyton agrees to cut team's rent in exchange for some control of Alltel Stadium signs
By MARY KELLI PALKA, The Times-Union
Mayor John Peyton and Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver struck a deal Wednesday night that keeps the team in the city.
Peyton agreed to give the Jaguars $8.6 million in rent reduction for its use of Alltel Stadium. In exchange, Weaver agreed to give the city a stadium free of the team's advertisers six times a year.
Peyton and Weaver reached the deal after about six hours of negotiations at the Bank of America building downtown. The City Council still has to approve the agreement that would end a dispute over who controls electronic signs at the stadium.
Weaver said he's confident the deal will help his team be more financially compe ive.
"What this does is give us some relief in the early years," Weaver said.
Peyton said he reached his long-term goal of keeping the Jaguars in Jacksonville while also protecting the taxpayers. Both men said they hope the team will be able to fill more seats, which would also help the Jaguars financially.
"The city has done its part," Peyton said. "I think it's now time for the community to do its part."
More negotiations are needed to discuss naming rights, since Alltel's deal to have its name on the stadium expires in 2007. The city had been trying to come up with an agreement where it received half of revenues for a new naming rights deal, but Weaver wanted to focus more on electronic signs.![]()

Why the long face? Everything in bold works to SA's benefit.
1) They're being charged rent. The reduction is over eight million. How much is the freaking rent? We wouldn't charge rent...
2) Jacksonville is STILL limiting their sale of signage.
3) This hasn't yet been approved by their city council.
4) Their naming rights deal is up after next season. That's an "out" window from a bad stadium deal.
I took it as they were staying...I hope not....And you would think Hardberger would try and go after them...
You'd think Hardberger would be putting his hand up the dresses of each of those teams and not just the Saints.
Yuck...could you imagine the San Antonio Bills? I hate those uniforms.
I could really handle the "SAN ANTONIO JAGUARS"....LOL...Has a nice ring to it... they don't even know we exist here...lol
TEXANS and SPURS, Damn Straight!!!!!
Well, it looks as though they're locked in until after next season, at least. I would guess that if the NFL does something like scheduling the Saints in La. next year, Phil will go shopping, and JAX will be on his short list.
" Hi. I'm Phil Hardberger, mayor of San Antonio. You can play in our Dome rent free. You can also control all signage, concessions, and parking during your games. We also have some luxury boxes that you can sell, as well as the venue naming rights. Gimme a call."
LOL, damn, sounds good to me...
TEXANS and SPURS, Damn Straight!!!!!
But Hardberger is just too obssessed with the Saints to look elsewhere....
TEXANS and SPURS, Damn Straight!!!!!
They've already blackmailed a stadium out of PHO using us as a threat. I think it opens next season. That's why I'd rather play two owners off of each other. I'm tired of getting played. Time to be a playa.

Not if they schedule in La. next year...
Wait a minute, are you serious??? The cardinals are using SA as A threat???? Do you have a link, i have to read this....
If so, they better change their name and take that damn little bird off their helmits...That way ppl would forget they were the Cardinals...lol
Done deal, SBG. They had an election back in 2001, maybe 2002. Bidwell said that if they didn't aprove a new stadium he WOULD move the Cards to SA. The vote passed, and I think the stadium opens next fall.
LOL. Did anyone else catch the little Jaguar logo that CBS was digitally projecting on the SECTIONS of empty seats around the bowl on pullaway shots? Lots of good seats empty along the sidelines on the lower deck, too. WTF?
Yeah really because their not a bad team to watch...
They'll be 5-3 after they take a knee. Doesn't this town WANT a team?
I'd be shocked if they had more than 55,000. They only need to sell 50,000 "regular" seats to avoid the dreaded blackout.
Yeah. Let's be playas. I've always thought of Muad'Dib and Shawn Elliot as playas.![]()
