ehh they went to total after the 2nd. Dude had a great idea but he is just not that good a writer.
T. Dreiser: An American Tragedy
No, but I have downloaded "In the Garden of Beasts: Love Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin" by Erik Larson onto my Nook. I am going to read it as soon as I finish my current book, "Disembodied Bones" by C.L. Bevill
Not one of their best, but better than the crappy sequel ("Escape from ").
No need for an e-book. I found a copy at Amazon. I also bought A World at Arms. Two monster reads and 2,500 pages worth of WWII reading in two books.![]()
I could never teach myself from the book either but it came easy to me as long as I attended the lectures. Unfortunately, attendance was always hard for me.
I'm on the last semester with that Calc book this summer. Its all vector so far that I could have used two semesters ago when I started Mechanics. Since I know this already, its been easy so far. I suppose that will change at some point.
All in all it got much easier after learning intergration methods (by parts, partial fractions etc etc).
Anyway, I have had time to start reading for pleasure again. Just finished this:

You don't read calc for pleasure?![]()
I didn't study nearly enough physics in school (and am needing to brush up on what I did), so I have been reading and doing problems from these lately.

The Taylor book is really spectacular.
I really do find it beautiful and amazing but GOD NO.![]()
I wish I had the Spivak book, tbh.
^ It's not hard to find online in .pdf or .djvu format.
Darkly Dreaming Dexter.
But I stalled out on that book.
Actually a magazine...The Great Running Backs.
The Gate House
Nelson DeMille
I scored this book:

I just finished 11/22/63, and I was a little disappointed in the rather rushed ending. Tying it to the Dark Tower would have been nice, or even just fleshing out the card men a little bit. Good overall, but denouement was underwhelming. I wouldn't have minded a few hundred more pages just to find out more about the Card Men. Three stars.
