awesome game, vintage Manu
Notice how we played frenetically (almost looked panicked) for most of the first 3 Qs, then in the 4th slowed down just a touch and played tough and fast but not out of control? That was the rust wearing off. Rust is all about the fact that practice doesn't prepare you for the pace of the game, and when you have a long rest then play a tough team you try to do things too quickly, over-compensate.
westbrick favorite song on loop...mariah carey - hero....lol
I think the Thunder may have just lost the series by losing game 1. The Spurs were rusty. They weren't adjusted to the Thunder's defense and pace. They turned the ball over like crazy and they missed alot of freethrows. They're not going to send Durant to the line like crazy. It was their best chance to win and they couldn't.
Bonner is a problem for me. I said at half time that I wasn't sure if we can play him in the second half. He missed all his shots and I am pretty sure the Thunder scored off of every miss. It also seemed like the Thunder got a gazillion rebounds when he was in the game.
Did any of you hear Brooks' postgame comments? He said they have to keep Manu from getting easy 3's the next game. Did he even see the shots he took? Well, any ways, if they want to defend the perimeter better on him then Manu should just pump fake and drive to the basket more and get to the foul line. They have no real answer for Manu except for Harden to fight Manu's offense with some of his own. I like our chances with Manu winning that battle.
Russell Westbrook just blamed the refs.
The Thunder also showed that they are never out of a game and they just continue to hit shots. That's gotta be a reason for the Spurs pressing in the first three quarters. They know the Thunder are capable of hitting shots so it's really hard to get any seperation from them. Spurs were trying too hard to get seperation.
Edit : And Russell Westbrook. ing clown. Just read Timvps post that said he blamed the refs. If that's the case then these losers. I thought the Thunder got too many touch fouls at the end of the game and that clown is blaming the refs??????
we played like diggin ourselves a grave in the first half...splitter, ginoboli kept us in the game
Durant looks like the big head commercial of himself.
He joined Stephen A Smith in bashing the city...
Well, I think we got Game 2 for sure but Game 3 is going to be very, very hard. That crowd is going to erupt for everything the Thunder do and that will pump up a young team like theirs. If we thought Green looked, well...green tonight, imagine how nervous he might be in Game 3?
Westbrook talking about free throws![]()
No Westbrook, YOU happened
This game really showed how good the Spurs are right now. Out of rythm and getting outplayed most of the way they turned it on and won pretty handily down the stretch. Manu was the best he's been all year. What a 2nd half..
The final score was kinda misleading because of Harden's last second 3.
Did you see how dorky Westbrook and Durant looked in the post game interview?
does westbrook always dress like that?
The only reason the Thunder scored in the fourth quarter was because of free throws. Spurs had them on lock otherwise.
That's why having depth is great. If someone is not ready then someone else will take their place. Both Neal and Jax stepped up to make up for DG.
If Westbrook is whining already, then this could go quick if he keeps it up...
I was thinking the same thing!![]()
Our half court defense looked pretty solid against them. Even Neal was stepping up and drawing charges.
