KG and Peter Holt are sworn enemies from the CBA negotiations. KG would NEVER sign to play for SA because of that.

They'd be stupid not to look at it. They nerd to make the call but if he would take the mle, he will have offers from every playoff team

Even to get a ring?
I have a known connection lounging around in the front office that lets me know what's going on and what's being talked about.
Both KG and Allen will retire as Celtics. Probably will re-sign for another season. The contracts of JONeal, Sheed and Shaq will expire, so they could add some help.
Sheed and Shaq?
ROFL
Whats the point
No matter how good we are the NBA is going to us anyway
Nice to hear, but do they really think he would take the MLE?
Celtics need to move on from them IMO. Pierce will retire a Celtic, I'd be surprised if Allen and Garnett came back
this. I had said in these forums before the SJ trade surprise that KG should be a legitimate target for the Spurs in the offseason. Makes perfect sense if he joins the Spurs.. Just too perfect though. Would love it if it happens. TD and KG will be playing for their swansong and it won't get more intense than that.
They think they can talk him into it but as it stands right now no.
Say it ain't so... Another spurstalk member with "sources".![]()
I don't see KG retiring after being this productive in the playoffs. I don't know where he'll play though. Boston seems likely even though he won't contend. I don't see him going to the Heat. Spurs and Dallas could make a push for him.
Dallas is a good shout. They could offer him more than us but I only see it if they sign Derron Williams, otherwise they aren't a serious contender
Also, would KG be willing to take half of what Duncan will be earning? If Duncan signs a $10m+ contract which he more than deserves, would Garnett be petty about his career rival earning twice as much as him?
I've hated Garnett since he came into the league. And i can't believe i'd say this but i'd love to have him on our team for next season.
I mean come on, athletic 7 footer, plays inside and outside, great defender, good jump shooter, great post moves, unblockable jump hook. He averaged 20 points and 10 rebound sin the playoffs so he still has game.
I've always hated his at ude, maybe his swagger and fire is just what the spurs need.
Money wise. He's earned like 200 million in sallary, not including sponsorships. Money shouldn't be an issue at this stage in the career trying for one more championship. If he's available and wants another ring, Timmy should give him a phone call and they can work their out together.
Arch enemies combining in their twilights together would be en entertaining.
Could you imagine KG getting the open mid-range looks against the Thunder that Diaw was passing up? Damn...
Actually, this thread. Getting my hopes up for something that is never happening
KG will probably end up in LA.
Nutting pants in 3..2..1 lol yeah should definitely stop thinking about the pipe dream.
Spurs just have to decide if they are going to go balls out for another run or blow it up. Go for KG if we think we can win. Garnett can guard rivals from gasol to dirk to aldridge to durant and griffin. He'd be a great piece.
If we decide finally the championship years are over, Trade TP Manu Jax Duncan etc. to contenders for en draft picks or real young dudes, suck for 5 years getting lottery picks along the way and we'll be contending again next decade..
Front office has a big decision to make on which direction this team is headed..
More likely he retires a Celtic than starts jumping teams looking for a ring. I don't think that's his style. Besides, I thought he wanted to retire a Celtic? Coming to SA seems incredibly implausible. In addition, what makes us think he would see SA as a place to get a ring?
going back to Minny for a year and then retiring. book it.
None of our role players can hit mid-range jumpers and it's killed us in the playoffs. In the playoffs teams consistently take away 3's and the paint and we implode because we either take rushed 3's or break offensive rhythm by not shooting.
yes more over the hill players just what they need.
