Kobe got his money (well deserved I might add) under a different CBA. MJ made about the same when he was in his twilight years. The difference? MJ had two HOF teammates that were still 1st team all-NBA Defense to help him 3peat a second time.
Since this is a thread about the Mamba, let's flip the script. How many of the below accomplishments belonging to Kobe, will Dwayne Wade Surpass?
- Points: 29,484 - Nope - I doubt it - and Kobe ain't done

- Assists: 5,418 - Probably
- Rebounds: 6,142 - Nope - I doubt it
- Steals: 1,722 - Maybe
- Rangs: 5 - to the No
- NBA Finals Appearances: 7 - ^
- MVP - Not if your team is not your team anymore!

- NBA All Star: 14 - to the No!
- All-star MVPs: 4 - Nope - I doubt it
- All-NBA Selections: 14 - to the No
- All-NBA 1st Team Def: 12 - ^
- Consecutive 50+ point games: 4 -

- ZERO Bronze Medals - D-Whistle - ONE

How about current NBA records Kobe has?
- Most All-Star Game MVP awards won, career: 4 -

- Most All-Star Game points scored, career: 271 -

- Most All-Star Game field goals made, career: 111 -

- Most offensive rebounds in an All-Star Game: 10 -

- Most All-Defensive First Team honors won, career: 9 (tied with MJ - including this year over your boy)

- Most three-point field goals made, one game: 12 -

- Most three-point field goals made, one half: 8 -

So, I'd say he is so relevant that you decided to make a thread about a TOSB entering his 17th year. Well, D-Whistle has a ton of work to do to be even in the same sentence as the legendary Kobe Bryant. Problem is, his game won't age as gracefully as Kobe's has. There is nothing that a guard is supposed to do that Kobe can't do. D-Whistle? Not so much. He's already breaking down as we speak (doubtful for the Olympics due to a bum pinkie toe
). Meanwhile Kobe will play (even though I'd rather he not play).
So before you start another thread trying to clown the Mamba do your homework. Capeesh?
