Quick was actually an FCS stud, not D2
....I'll be watching other than Luck & RGIII
Robert Turbin...Mr.Olympia in pads. A monster! Seahawks running back.
T.Y.Hilton...a Percy Harvin type player, probably quicker. Colts receiver/whatever.
Brian Quick...Div II stud receiver, 6-4 220 pounds with speed. Rams.
Ronnie Hillman...broke some of Marshall Faulks records at SDS. Broncos.
Lamar Miller..wouldn't shock me if he put Bush back out in the slot. Dolphins.
Chris Rainey...more speed than the Steelers have ever had in the backfield.
A.J.Jenkins and LaMichael James in Frisco, love those make one guy miss...gone!!!!!!!!
Quick was actually an FCS stud, not D2
The receiver I think will surprise everyone this year is Devier Posey. He's already on a good team and might very well be the 2nd best receiver they have.
Yep, my bad!
The best potential coming out of the FCS.
I was thinking the same thing, I like his size. 6-2 211. Coming out of the Big10 means he is used to the big stage.
Lamar Miller will be a beast...the sooner Miami makes him the feature back the better off they'll be. Put Reggie back in his normal role--the one Sproles plays in NO.
Hilton and James don't have NFL bodies and will spend most of their careers on IR, imo.
There's no shortage of rookies to keep an eye on this year, so I'll start with ones that are doomed to fail:
RG3 - Redskins
Justin Blackmon - Jaguars...worst QB in the league throwing to him
Mark Barron - Buccaneers...can't cover to save his life, and he has to face Brees, Ryan, and Newton 6 times a year.
Ryan Tannehill - Dolphins...lol where to begin...
Dontari Poe - Chiefs...most overrated player in the draft. He'll be out of the NFL in 3 years.
Players who will excel within a couple years:
Andrew Luck
Matt Kalil
Fletcher Cox
Melvin Ingram
Michael Floyd
Stephon Gilmore
Michael Brockers
Alshon Jeffery
David DeCastro
Jonathan Martin
Courtney Upshaw
Dont'a Hightower
Sean Spence
Lamar Miller
Devier Posey
Nick Perry
David Wilson
Coby Fleener
Dwayne Allen
Rueben Randle
For my surprise pick, I'll take Brandon Weeden. Yes, he's a Big 12 QB AND going to Cleveland, but I have a gut feeling about him.
We have about half of the people over at Finheaven already declaring him our starter for 2013![]()
Love it when somebody knows what they are talking about.
In todays NFL, you need a back that packs a bit of a punch. A guy who wears down a defense. Yes I know that is not Chris Johnson or Reggie Bush but it does help.
Bush is a great receiver for a running back, you put him out in space he can make that first guy miss and does have the speed, I use Miller as the thumper.
While I do think Bush is (as he proved) a 1000 yard back, he could do more damage as a slot receiver. I start Miler as you mentioned.
Miller is not a thumper...in fact miami is already using him in the slot.
If anyone is going to be the thumper on that team it's 230 lb Daniel Thomas.
Thomas is inconsistent at best. In fact the only thing he's consistent at is fumbling.
I think so too. Also Keyshawn Martin being our Punt Returner already an upgrade over Jacoby Jones.
Josh McRoberts is also right about Mark Barron. He and Tannehill are by far the worst top 10 picks in the draft. I'm not sure why teams still covet the "safety who tackles like a linebacker!" type player. Safeties who cover like corners and tackle like safeties are a lot more useful in today's NFL than Adrian Wilson type safeties who blitz really well but see big plays fly over their head every week.
Still have high hopes for DT. The game against the Texans, he was great. Now that he is finally healthy and is going to have his first real offseason behind him, I expect he'll have a solid 2nd year.
