Even with Lebron growing balls, Dallas still has a solid chance at repeating, with Tyson..

I don't think the Mavs repeat with Chandler last year, but it was still a huge mistake to let him go.
randy foye isn't a point guard he's a 2 and on top of that he really really SUCKS
Dallas made good additions in Delonte West and Vince, they both had good seasons..
Their 5 position saw a significant downgrade, particularly offensively..Chandler can't create his own offense, but he's one of the best finishing role players in the NBA..Haywood is one of the worst offensive Cs I've ever seen, and their other Cs are too soft and frail..
Dirk regressed this year, but I believe part of that is losing confidence in his team during the off-season, mostly due to the loss of Chandler..
Miami and OKC both still struggle against the zone, and last year's Mavs had one of the most effective zones in recent history..
Well tell that to the Mavs who are looking at him.
At this point I say we go after that Uncle Drew guy from the Pepsi commercials.

Also, Foye came into the league as a PG. Played the position his first couple of years.

His one great trade (Tyson Chandler) was an accident because they struck out on other targets and they wanted to kick the can down the road by getting an expiring contract for Damp's expired deal.
Of the three teams that dominated the 00's (Lakers, Spurs, Mavs), only the Mavs didn't win multiple les precisely because they consistently failed to surround Dirk with the proper supporting cast.

Devin Harris was a value pick but he was the number 5 pick we got in the Jamison trade IIRC. Outside of that lottery pick, none of the late first rounders panned out except Jho at 28
With Chandler, the Mavs very well could have beaten the Heat. For as good as LeBron was in the Finals, he shot like 16% outside of the paint against the Thunder. With Chandler in the middle and the Mavs playing zone, Dallas wouldn't have let LeBron have so much success at the rim. Add in Marion's athleticism on him out on the perimeter, Wade and Bosh less then 100%, and Dirk rounding into form by that time and the Mavs probably coast to a repeat.

Brooks is a 5-foot-9 shooting guard. Foye is a 6-foot-1 small forward. Not exactly point guard options, tbh.
As bad as things are, he's right to not make a big problem worse by signing the wrong guys. See Detroit Pistons: 2009 - Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva.

Yep - Chandler was only 28. A huge mistake. Since the S'n'T loophole was closed and D-Will couldn't get anything close to what the Nets were offering in Dallas, why did they put so much emphasis on luring max players away from their original teams? Under the old CBA, there's no doubt in my mind D-Will would've been a Mav. But since Brooklyn could offer him $25 million more and an extra year, getting him was a pipe dream from the beginning.
