I don't think the label has passed TABC yet tbh, it would be here already if it had. it's not available for retailers to order yet.

I have asked if they could order it at Sunrise Market in Austin the last two weeks, but it's not on the inventory yet. Probably sitting in a warehouse somewhere

I've had two of these, quite good. Might wanna let it sit 10-15 minutes before drinking it, flavor comes out more as it warms:

I'm gonna be in the Scottsdale area for an extended period of time. Anyone have a good suggestion about reailers or markets in the area. More specifically, I'm in the area just north of Shea Blvd outside of the 101.

    Thanks.

My best finds for bottle shops and bars have been through Beer Advocate:

    http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/city/29

I know it says Phoenix, but there are also Scottsdale places listed. The highest rated place seems to be Papago for Scottsdale

    hope that helps!

Ah, thanks Lee. Forgot about BA.

I might just go down the list until I find a good dealer. At least I'm in a location that sells Parabola. I'm digging that brew.

I make sure my iPhone is charged up before I go on a run when I am out of town, haha. I am on BA constantly checking everything to get the cream of the crop out of what I have never seen/had.

My next trip is to Denver for GABF, gonna swing by Fort Collins and Boulder too. I usually take at least one 12 bottle box to check in on the way back, 2 if I fly SouthWest. My girlfriend is going too, so we may bring back 3. I was up there last year and brought back a bunch of Epic beers out of Utah. Their exponential series is quite good - I had the Imp Stout, Imp IPA, and the Sour Apple Saison. All excellent. I haven't had the Parabola, but everything else I have had from Firestone Walker was great. Big fan of the Double Jack IPA

    Indeed. Lee's a baller.

I've tried the Double Jack IPA before (at least it's checked off on my list....) although I don't recall my experience with it. I thought about writing a short synopsis of my feelings, sensations and general thoughts much like BA users do just for my own recollection.

I'll have to make more use of my mobile device for that purpose in the future. Right now, it's pretty much all tied to work. At any rate, I'll hit up Papagos later this week. It's about 11 miles south of where I work. Not exactly convenient for me, but if it's a good spot I'm there.

    You and your conics.

An enjoyable if not healthy bias to be sure.

I'm having the Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti tonight and it's AWESOME... celebrating the Spurs win, I highly recommend this beer.
This is a good beer. I prefer it in the winter but I'll drink it year round.

Pretty tasty, I would like H.O.P.'s opinion on this, I found it less hoppy than the Hoptimum but still a damn tasty beer.

My introduction to non-mass produced beer was from the Celis brewery, located in Austin in the early 90s. Over the years they did a deal with one of the big American breweries, who ended up shutting them down because they weren't producing enough to care about. Someone else bought the brewery and put out something called Celis, but it hasn't been the same. I'm happy to hear that Celis' daughter (Pierre Celis passed away in 2011) has purchased back the rights to the name and intends to open a new brewery back in Austin, which will go back to the original recipes. The brewmaster is someone who worked with Celis in the old days and who has 50 years of experience.

Celis' Belgian-inspired brews were one of the forerunners of the very active small-batch beers so active in the US today, and I look forward to their return to the market. They'll start brewing somewhere else until they can get the Austin facility built.

Just found Indio in Dallas! It was one of my first dark beers in Mexico and I can't believe I used to get this for $5 a pitcher in Reynosa. Now that I drink a lot of IPAs I can't imagine myself buying this too much...its $9 for a 6 pack. Dogfish head is $10.

It still beats the out the bud lights in the world.

Got to meet the brewers of Ballast Point out of San Diego...and makers of Sculpin IPA--one of my personal faves. Real cool dudes...made me want to consider my own microbrew.
