Cool
Well, the Nets pulled out of the Howard chase and have re-signed Brooks Lopez. It looks like it has all been set up for the Lakers to try to buy another Championship. ing assholes.
If Howard wanted to go to the Lakers, he would have been there at the trade deadline last year.
He may wind up there, but he wasn't part of some plot to get him there this way.
Like the Lakers need him. Damn
No surprises here. LA gets what it wants.
I don't think Orlando sends him to LA unless they can sign Bynum long term, and I don't see any reason Bynum would want to be in Orlando.
Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard would (will) be like fire and water.
I could see Kobe physically assaulting him at some point (Howard would be backing off with a big "what the " smile on his face).
Andrew (30 rebounds) Bynum will be gone.
If this were to happen, the Lakers would be very good.
They might win a le (or more) but I wouldn't just assume that they will be some juggernaut. Maybe, but maybe not.
He probably wasn't but Stern and the league likely are.
They already attempted to buy another one with Nash.
The "sign and trade" is a terribly gigantic loophole in the CBA for competative balance. I mean jesus, you can still sign a dude who wasn't already on the team to a 40m deal even when you're already in the luxury tax? What the ?
I don't think they're neccesarily going to get Dwight, but tbh, since they have been allowed to purchase Nash despite already being in the luxury tax at the mere cost of a couple future picks in the 26-30 range, they don't even need Dwight. Bynum has grown to be similar in production. At the very least, not so much worse where Dwight is that big of an upgrade. The only thing better about Dwight is that he's better defensively and is less injury prone. But with his back surgeory, who knows about that anymore.
This is the last season that a taxpaying team can participate in a sign and trade.
I don't think the Magic will even trade Dwight, tbh... they're so delusional, they still think he'll change his mind...
Lakers winning it > Thunders dynasty
If I had to choose.
Lol Howard for Bynum is a lateral step. Bynum broke out last season & hes just as good as howard. Wouldnt be surprised if hes better than Howard this season seeing how howard is recovering from his injury.
There is no freaking way Howard will go to the lakers for a direct bynum or gasol trade, Not going to happen. It will take a 3 or 4 team deal where lakers take on contracts and give up both gasol and bynum....
Damaged goods...that back will bother him the rest of his career.
No need to panic. Bynum is a free agent next summer and Orlando will not send him for a guy who will leave them next year.
