Going on the information I had available. I know absolutely zero about the accusations, aside from what you and CC had said. It's still irrelevant to the murder charge.

We simply disagree and standing trial isn't evidence of a crime. Innocent people stand trial for crimes they did not commit.
Besides, with the information now coming to light, it's beginning to appear the only reason Zimmerman is standing trial is political.
Based on what's available so far, I agree with Yoni that there doesn't seem to be enough evidence to convict Zimmerman of 2nd degree murder.
That being said, there's enough other stuff about Z that points to him being a total piece of . And in this particular case, I don't care if the jury overlooks the real facts to send him to jail. IMO, justice served.

I understand your point but, I'm having trouble reconciling Zimmerman being a "total piece of " and his support of a homeless African-American man with a beef against the Police Department.
A "total piece of " doesn't just champion the deserving cause of a no-name homeless guy.
It could be the "total piece of " characterization is a fabrication of those who are completely invested in Zimmerman being guilty of anything because, well, the racist angle just wasn't working out and, instead of wearing the egg on their faces, they will now assassinate his character.

Yeah...I hear you. There's some things that don't completely add up to either side's portrayal of Zimmerman. And I also agree that this newest accusation could be fabricated or altered to a more sinister level than it really was.
But again, from what's out there (facts, accusations, events), I think something is wrong with the guy. If the accusations are true, then I won't have a problem with the jury convicting him, regardless if they are making their decision based on facts outside of the scope of the charge.
Maybe the truth will come out and show that Zimmerman really wasn't as bad as he seems. Or maybe he's not as bad as he seems but the truth never will come out and he is sacrificed.
