Add 2014 WR KD Cannon to the offer list. That's a big one. He just got off the phone with the UT staff.

This can be kind of confusing separating the guys who have received "the call" from the staff, those who are still waiting or won't receive an offer just yet. Basically everyone we've talked about in the past with an "approved offer" is expected to have a committable offer as of tonight, but we'll break it down. Thanks to Pop for getting the list started. The guys in red are unconfirmed at this point:

Catalon should be in the bag tomorrow. Good way to start the weekend with arguably the best RB in Texas for the 2014 class.

2014 RB Leonard Fournette did hear from Texas today. His offer is official.

“They basically said that they were done beating around the bush, they liked our kid and they wanted to make it public,” the coach said. “They decided that it was just time to change the way they do things, and if there are kids that they want, kids that they've evaluated and really like, then they're not going to wait anymore.”

“The serious recruiting all started when I attended the camp in June,” said Joe. “After the camp the coaches told me they really don’t like offering early and that they wanted to wait until February to offer me at junior days. But then they told me they really liked what I did out there that day and they wanted to offer me right then, but to keep it on the down low. Originally they didn’t want me to say anything until February, but then Coach (Bo) Davis called me today and said I can make it public.”

“The decision was easy,” Joe told Hookem.com. “Like I’ve said before, Texas has always been my favorite. They’ve always been my school that I’ve rooted for and liked. So to hear them say that they want you to play for them is just incredible. It didn’t take me anytime to take them up on the offer.”

“I’m blessed,” Joe exclaimed. “Being a Longhorn is just such a great honor. You can’t ask for anything else. I’m just so blessed. I wake up every day and thank God for letting me be a Texas Longhorn. I’m so excited and pumped to be a part of such a great team. It feels great to know I’m going to Texas. I just can’t describe the feeling I get thinking about it. It’s awesome.”

“My offer is strictly for wide receiver,” Joe explained. “And that’s exactly where I want to be. I know that’s the position for me. Not quarterback or anywhere else. I may play quarterback the next year or two, but I’ll always be a receiver. That’s my thing.”

“Coach (Darrell) Wyatt told me he really likes me a lot,” said Joe. “He’s seen my film of me playing receiver as a sop re and really liked what he saw. When I went to the camp he told me he was real impressed and said that he knows I may be playing quarterback in high school, but that at the next level I have the skills to succeed at receiver and that’s where they want me. I plan to do big things there.”

Stud, stud, stud. Roberson is best in state weakside DE in recent years. Akina strikes again. Nobody recruits San Antonio better.

Solomon Thomas is a lock. Strongside end will be covered.

Texas is in an excellent position with Myles Garrett. Most complete in state 2014 DE. He play both either side and get after the quarterback.

I hope Texas slow plays Denton Ryan DE Sekou Clark. I don't think they need 4 DEs in the 2014 class, but Clark might play himself into an offer this fall.

Texas should be very, very selective at DE in 2013. If the coaches like where they sit with Thomas and Garrett, I think they should sign 1 JUCO DE and shut it down.

I was getting nervous yesterday because there was ZERO talk of Roberson and I was hoping the staff wasn't going to wait. Kid is going to blow up these next two years. Hope Texas can also lock up Garrett because Thomas may gain the good weight to move inside eventually.

Latest on OL/DL Andrew Billings as of this morning from 24/7...he's stated that his commitment will come prior to his senior season (that means this month). He also mentioned that his future position will not be a factor in his decision. Great news considering his preference for defense was thought to be somewhat of an issue.

So, what's left for the '13 class now that we are working the '14?

Well, RSJ is the top prize. We need a DE in this class (just one, preferably a Juco DE), Caleb Benenoch and Andrew Billings are likely future Texas commits, one or two more DB commits are also expected (Marcell Harris? Cole Luke?).

On Catelon
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Houston area product recently told Hookem.com in July that he was down to just two schools, LSU and Texas, but with the Longhorns offering so early, it made the choice easy for him.
