Sure - which is why I am saying that none of it makes a lot of sense to me. He could either take out loans and make it more fun or if he had to live in SA to help out or something, he can still take out loans for what he cannot cover.

UTSA is definitely cheaper, but that is the decision it seems like it boiled down to. I was just saying the other stuff, while not optimal, just sounded like some excuses (even though it would have required some extra/hard work)

colleges ain't no longer what they were, lets say, as recent as 5 years ago. grads even with ty degrees could mostly find mid-table jobs and within a couple of years they all became pros in their areas getting paid twice or even more than their fresh years, todays newly graduates however, are getting treated like cattle and paid less than a be@ner, and most of them are dead-end jobs even if they do get employed somehow

I graduated from UTSA in 08. And yes, lol UTSA. I was a tutor for Chem and Bio and holy I had to deal with so many dumbasses. I transfered to the downtown campus tutoring center just to avoid everyone.

There are alot of stupid s at UTSA that probably shouldnt be in college. But that isnt completely indicative of the faculty/type of education you get there...theres only so much a good teacher can do. If youre smart, which I clearly am, then the education you get there is perfectly fine tbh.

UT Austin's rell school of engineering is ranked 8th in the nation above the likes of Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, and all of the UCs except Berkeley

UTSA's school of engineering is 7th to last on page 8 of the rankings.

I don't believe for one second that FkLA was accepted to UT's school of engineering with an 1100 SAT (people accepted to the rell school of engineering at UT typically had SATs in the 1400-1450/1600 range on the old test - a full 300-350 points higher than what Fkla scored).

I got accepted straight out of high school dumb . Assuming the entire UT system works the same, you start off as a pre-Engineering major before you get into the Engineering school. Knowing my abilities, I know I wouldve made it. But I never claimed I did because I didnt end up attending UT-Austin, obviously.

If you are still thinking about this, up at 5AM, it probably rings somewhat true. The only question that needs to be asked/answered (and you can do that without going into too much detail) is: Was it possible at all to make the decision to go to UT? If so, choosing to go to UTSA (which I have not made fun of you for, and which is fine if that is your best play) was your choice and all the other reasons where just excuses (even if it would have been difficult).
