Regarding Daje, word is the coaching staff was not happy with his dismissive at ude at times, being inattentive, and giving lip to coaches. Message to Daje and team is it won't be tolerated and time for at ude adjustment or ride the pine.
That's definitely a bit more concerning than a missed curfew. That's something that had to be addressed immediately. Very dissapointing.

That sounds about right. I didn't think it was anything like drugs but possibly something small that he did repeatedly to force the staff's hand. He's obviously been out of line if he gets suspended for the first game of his career. Hopefully that's a much needed wake-up call for him because the dude might have been listed as a co-starter for Wyoming.

Thats a huge get, Cedric Collins is the man and one of the top guys in the state. Congrats, I do think that this is newsworthy, we might've not offered him but he was definitely a guy everyone who follows recruiting in the state of Texas had an eye on. Since Texas wasn't going to get him I'm glad Aggies did, not OU, not Baylor, not TCU or any other in the Big XII is somewhat of a win for Texas.
+1. For whatever reason, Texas didn't recruit the kid and I don't think they've even had contact with him since the spring game. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that he's a solid CB and that's a huge addition for A&M in many ways. Their secondary has been a weak link for a long time so they need playmakers there and he may end up in the top two or three guys they sign for 2014 (assuming it sticks).

Update on S Erik Huhn (OrangeBloods):

"In the back of your mind it was like 'That's where I want to go, so you always have that in the back of your mind," Huhn said. "But I knew if they (Texas) didn't offer me I was going to have to make a decision to go somewhere else. I was really looking hard into the other schools I was considering if Texas did not work out."

"Coach Akina came down to our school a couple of times and told me he really liked me," Huhn said. "He wanted to see if I could play man coverage so he asked me to go up to the camp. That's where it happened. I went up there and showed them I could do it and they offered me."

"It really wasn't hard at all (to commit to Texas). That's where I knew I wanted to go for a while and once I got the opportunity to go that's where I decided to go," Huhn said. "Basically it was so close to home and it's one of the best programs in the nation and they're always going to be good. My dad went there for a while and he told me he loved it."

"It's been really good (since committing to Texas). Everyone comes up to me and tells me they're really happy for me and I'm really happy for myself. So it's been really good," Huhn said.

"We just have to work hard and stay focused. Just the fact that everyone on the team … all we want is to win another one. So we have the drive and everyone is looking forward to it," Huhn said. "We seniors feel like it's our team this year and we have to take responsibility for it. For everything that happens, we can't fall back on anyone. It's all on you. That's the mindset we've been going with this year."

According to OrangeBloods, OL/DL Andrew Billings is seriously considering pushing back his commitment date. He originally wanted to have everything done by September 1st, but it sounds like he's simply not ready yet:

"He talked to his family a little bit. He wants to try to get this done before the beginning of his season, but that may not happen," said a source close to his recruitment. "That's been his goal all along, but he feels like it's too tough of a decision to rush through it."

"He's just kind of in a holding pattern. Now that practice and everything has started, it's been taking up all his time until late at night,"
the source said. "That what he's looking at now."

"He and his family are discussing him possibly going to see some games. He hasn't figured out which ones. It really that just kind of came up the other day so it's still fresh. They have to look at his schedule. I know the first week of the season he plays on Saturday, so that won't happen."

"He wants to see a game-day environment. It's getting tough, so he thought 'Why not just take a couple visits, help me sort it out a little more?' He wanted to get it done early, didn't want to take it into season. But it's going to be a tougher decision than he thought. He's thinking he may go to a few games."

"I'm sure one will be a Texas game. He's never been to one. I can't confirm that for sure, but if he's going to a game, that will be high on his list," our source said.

"His answer is pretty clear. He just wants to play four more years of football. Offensive is fine with him," the source said.

"It's tough for him because those are some really good schools," we're told.

In a shocking turn, rookie (Justin) Tucker gets all the kicks while Cundiff sits

    http://articles.baltimoresun.com/201...harbaugh-first

"In perhaps an indication of rising sentiment within the organization, Tucker, an undrafted rookie — not Cundiff, the in bent — played the entire 48-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday night."

From Dallas Morning News on Longhorn Network.

Texas AD can't get Longhorn Network at home

    08:47 AM ET 08.25

University of Texas president Bill Powers and athletic director DeLoss Dodds were supposed to report to their board of regents this week on the status of the Longhorn Network. Instead they reversed fields and decided to skip it. Powers told reporters in Austin the timing wasn't right to publicly discuss the ESPN-owned network because of on-going negotiations that have the potential to elevate LHN from a rumor to a bona fide option in more than six million wired homes across the state of Texas. Let's assume then there isn't much coming down the pipeline anytime in the next couple of weeks. That means cable carrying heavyweight providers like Time Warner and Comcast and Charter will continue to ignore LHN. Ditto satellite's DirecTV and Dish Network. AT&T U-verse is on the board of dissenters as well. In other words, the overwhelming majority of cable subscribers in the state won???t get the network whose two marquee events of the year are scheduled for the next two Saturday nights. The Texas-Wyoming football season opener and the Texas-New Mexico follow-up belong to LHN. On a personal note, Dodds reported he cannot get LHN at his Austin area home. As for the upcoming Wyoming and New Mexico games, Dodds said they likely would not have made the cut when big-time network partners ABC, ESPN and Fox Sports Net divvied up the schedule. Most likely, he said, under existing contracts they would have been pay-per-view affairs.
