Actually, no. At least Crawford played some this year. The reason he's getting surgery now is so that he's back by Opening Day next year and since they probably won't make the playoffs now, they might as well have him get the surgery instead of waiting. Lackey hasnt played 1 game this year because of his Tommy John surgery that he had last year. And even when he was pitching, he was giving up 8+ runs each start...Mike Aviles is a joke.

So what? Crawford has been playing and producing next to nothing.
Lackey is no better but at least he started out decent. He had one bad outing last year and still won 12 games as opposed to Crawford which has been with the Red Sox almost as long and hasn't provided any type of offense.
I'll take the lesser of two evil in this case.
