I'm speculating it ought not affect the servers that much, as the updated page is generated only once and then pushed out to everybody... A bit more traffic to the server, that's all...

Random thought: There's no way to have two different "posts per page" settings, is there? That is, if I want regular threads to have 25 posts per page, but live threads to have 100 posts per page so I have to hit "next" less frequently?
