I can only tell you what I see here... I'll easily say he's been as good or actually even better than Christie, IMO.

Tides running 4 feet above normal with the worst yet to come. High tide is going to be crazy.

Collapsed crane hanging from building at 57th and 7th ave... starting to close streets around the building
So yeah, like I was saying, winds are stronger the higher you go. With the worst yet to come I wonder if that crane makes it. Awesome engineering!
Are you closer or farther off the coast than Cranbury? My girls got a good friend there whom shes telling to gtfo but apparently hes gonna ride it out.
Oh its too late to leave...
If he decided to stay he's got to ride it out.
Way closer. I'm about 4 miles off the coast. If you look up Cranbury in Google Maps and draw a line to the right towards the coast, I'm near where it says Shrewsbury.
Yeah, buses to shelters just stopped for the area. Now you have to ride it out.

When that gets over 10.5 the really gets real for the NYC subway system.
Do you have any large trees near your home? Your worse case scenario is a downed tree on the house.
Seen from several sources that twitter is going nuts up there planning looting parties.
Nah, I'm still renting on an Apt complex. Parked the car away from trees. Was just starting to look for a house, lol.
lol @ all these reporters standing in the middle of the wind and rain
Oh you're likely good then. Its going to be windy as but if you're in danger of downed trees your elevation is plenty high. Enjoy the show and your power loss.![]()
Pretty much what I figured. We have food, water and a couple bags ready just in case.
I skipped over your initial post, my bad. But it seems like be fine. Thanks and stay safe out there man.
I remember watching some "underground explorer" shows where they show all sorts of stuff underground, as well as the creaky infrastructure in some places.
The amount of copper phone wire and other abandoned down there makes me shudder to think what will happen when you introduce all that stuff to seawater. Fixing all this is going to be expensive as .
I will guess that we will see a pretty downturn in German and other foreign stock markets as the insurance companies most on the hook for large disasters, have to liquidate/sell assets to pay claims for what the insurance industry calls Excess of Loss reinsurance. (insurance on insurance)
If you can short any property and casualty insurer... now is time to do so, although everyone else probably has beaten you to the punch, at this point.
thanks
Tappan Zee bridge being shut down due to high winds
There's going to be a ton of litigation due to what type of insurance covers what since its half hurricane half nor easter, too.
http://articles.latimes.com/2010/aug...oting-20100829In San Francisco in 1906, the police behaved pretty well, but then the U.S. Army marched in and imposed its own version of order. One man was bayoneted by a soldier after taking supplies at the invitation of the proprietor of a grocery doomed to burn. A bank cashier was shot trying to open his own bank's safe. A man trying to rescue someone trapped in the rubble was shot dead after being mistaken for a looter. Estimates of those killed by the authorities run as high as 500, but actual numbers will never be known because the bodies of the killed were thrown into the flames and the bay.
Contracts aren't that specific to my experience, although I have never seen any such contracts for insurers with exposure to Nor' easters. Possible, but I would say it is unlikely they make such a distinction.
