Can Malcolm Brown redshirt?? I heard somewhere that he can only play less than 30% of the games to apply for medical redshirt. He went down after the fourth game vs Ok St. That makes it less than 30% of the games, he should be ok to redshirt right?? Or is there something that I am missing?

As for his recruitment, (Marcell) Harris has taken official visits to Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas and Florida and says he will not need to use his fifth and final visit. Though he claims no leader, Harris said he will make his college decision on Nov. 16.
Didn't knew he would make his decision that early.
Saw that today as well. He was in Gainesville twice in three weeks for the LSU and South Carolina games. Should be Florida.

Update on QB Tyrone Swoopes who is set to enroll at Texas in January (OrangeBloods). His Whitewright team has not won a game this season (0-8) and he's been struggling with a hamstring injury:
"It's frustrating, of course. I've talked to my dad and (Texas assistant) coach (Bryan) Harsin about it," said the Longhorn quarterback commitment. "They're just telling me that it's a learning experience at this point. Everything that I'm doing now, learning now, will make me better in the future. I just have to keep fighting and not give up."
"We have a lot of pride on the line (the next two games). We've had a lot of injuries, people around here have lost hope in us. We want to finish the year strong, want to finish with one win, hopefully two."
"I've been able to handle it pretty easily. It just requires having to do the classes with nobody in there with you. It's kind of boring, but I've handled it pretty well," Swoopes said.
"I'm just trying to get in there (to Texas), learn the offense and help the team as best as I can. I'm not saying I'm going to go in there and play right away - if I have to call plays, be a cheerleader on sidelines, I'll do it. Whatever I need to do, I'm ready to be a part of it."
"He (Harsin) had told me before they wanted me to do come in early, but they didn't pressure me into it. It was my own decision, but they're pretty excited about it."
"I think (Harsin) is just more excited about my mobility because I can run the ball pretty well. I'm not saying their quarterbacks now aren't athletic, I think he's just trying to do a little bit different things with me when I get there. Hopefully I'll be good at it, and I'll get it down when it's my time to get in there and play."
24/7 reported earlier today that the next 2014 offer could go out very soon. Koda Martin of Manvel plays both TE and DE this year but most project him to be an OT in college. Texas will be recruiting him for that position and he's scheduled to be in Austin for the Iowa State game next weekend.

Latest with 2014 WR Lorenzo Joe (24/7):
“Our season is going good right now,” explained Joe. “We only have two losses and we’re getting better each week. We have got to keep it going into the playoffs. As for my move to quarterback, it’s been going good too. I have thrown for like 1,500 yards and rushed for another 500. So it’s definitely been a real good adjustment for me.”
“I’m still liking wide receiver,” he said. “Although when you play quarterback you do have the ball every play. Still though, I work hard at receiver and put in extra work at the position so I don’t lose my skill-set there.”
“I came in for the New Mexico and West Virginia game,” said Joe. “I was going to the Baylor game, but the day before we played in Amarillo. I really enjoyed both visits. The whole thing was good. The atmosphere at the West Virginia game was crazy. It was loud. It doesn’t get any better than playing in front of 100,000 fans.”
“I’ve talked to some players about Texas,” Joe told Hookem.com. “Mainly guys like Jamal Adams (Hebron), Solomon Thomas (Coppell), Duncan Douglas (Lubbock Coronado) and a few others.”
“Basically I just tell them that we are making history with our class,” explained Joe. “I tell them it would be sick to play together. I say that we all can try to get Texas back on top, where it deserves to be.”
“Defensively they (Texas) have been struggling,” Joe said. “Offensively it has been kind of balanced. I’d like to see them throw a little more, but they’re doing good with what they are doing now. They’ll get back to where they need to be, no doubt about it.”

Remember RB Herschel Sims from the 2011 class who transferred out of OK State after being charged with fraud? He's now left Lamar.

24/7 has a new "rumors" board on their site and there is some pretty good stuff on there for those who have a sub and want to check it out. One of the best rumors on there so far is DT Robert Nkemdiche will de-commit from Clemson and commit to Ole Miss on November 10th when he visits Oxford with his parents. Important to remember that his brother is currently playing for them.

Another rumor out there has several programs backing off of S Priest Willis completely. There are concerns with his durability (apparently has back issues) and the people involved with his recruitment.

I believe it was technically the first series of the OK State game, so it may depend on if the NCAA views that as a full game even though he went down at the beginning and barely played. I know Hicks will probably look into a medical and I don't see any reason why Brown wouldn't assuming he's out for the rest of the year.
I doubt it really matters for Malcolm, the life span of a RB in the NFL is so low he would be crazy to stay at Texas past next season if his draft status is 1st round. He will need to get stronger and prove he is durable he is a great back and if he grades as a 1st round pick he should leave and take the money.
CB Cole Luke has committed to Notre Dame. Tough loss but can't say I blame the kid. The defense has been putrid.

He needs to get a full season under his belt to prove he's durable. We can only hope next year is much better for him.

Irish have few db's that play on Sunday...Body of work would favor Horns & Akina if Cole plans on playing in NFL!
Got to think not receiving an offer on his first visit (Horns were expecting M Smith to commit) was one of many BAD decisions this year.
Well we have few DBs that play on Saturday, so there's that.
Not much momentum for Texas either on the field or off at this point. We need to shake things
up after the bowl game. He's done a whole lotta good for Texas during his tenure but I'm hoping
Mack steps down and allows the program to chart its course for the future.
Hook 'em!
Funny...i thought the same when Curtis & Chykie played on Saturdays. Lo & behold 3rd & 5th Rd picks playing on Sundays
Hook' Em
Based on Caleb Benenoch's tweets it sounds like A&M is no longer an option for him. I don't know if an offer was pulled or what.
JUCO DE Randy Gregory has committed to Nebraska:
