Toros are going to send him home to rest.
Dentmon, Nando, CJ, Wilkerson, Cowan starting line up
Toros are going to send him home to rest.
Nando just hit a corner 3 and had a 15 ft jumper go earlier: 5 pts
The pull-up jumper looked nice.
Dentmon looking more impressive than De Colo
Did I just see Boris Diaw in the stands?
Nando looks so passive. Maybe he thinks the D-league is too "beneath" him.
And C.J. just ran probably the first successful (spacing-wise) pick and roll of the game.
De Colo only 2/7 shooting with only 5pts in 17 min... Not very impressive (yet). When Mills played a couple of D league games he torched the place with over 30pts.
I wouldn't read much into one game. It's like those who judged Joseph last year after looking at a couple of box scores. Players like those are sent down to the Toros specifically to change their games and focus on parts of their game that are not strong. Mills scored a ton of points in the D-League because scoring is one of his strong suits. Instructing De Colo to look for his own juimper is unnatural for him so there can be issues.
I'm willing to overlook De Colo's poor shooting (although he nearly airballed a wide open 3 point attempt). It's just strange to see him so ineffective against terrible players. He's clearly not a 1 on 1 kind of point guard who can create opportunities for others (and for himself) off the dribble. He relies on people setting good picks for him and his team having good spacing overall.
Cory Joseph on the other hand looks pretty solid.
Yes. Good eye.
C.J. looks really confident out there. Great to see.
Not watching this game live. Who is running point? Out of CJ, NDC and Ballhog Dentmon, there are a lot of options out there. Looks like the Toros are also giving Head some action.
Mostly Joseph. Nando actually got a three.
Made a long transition two -- foot on the line. Looked comically forced.
Is it just me or de colo isn't listed at the box score.
He is listed here: http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/201.../gameinfo.html
May not be listed on the app's box score.
lol Nando finishes the game at PF.
Joseph was a couple of assists away from a triple double. Looked good finishing at the rim. Compe ion is pretty bad though; won't have a challenge for another couple of games, then he plays against Troy Hudson/Andrew Goudelock and Garrett Temple.
Tough choice between DeColo & CJ. Slight edge to CJ
If I remember correctly, Patty Mills had 38 points and 12 assists in his last dleague game.

Scoring is his strength, so that is no surprise that he lit it up in the D-League when he was last there.
Patrick's weakness is ball handing and passing. If he was only better in those areas he could be getting a lot more court time.
btw why do all his fans call him Patty? He said that he prefers the name Patrick, yet all his hardcore fans always call him Patty.
I'm not sure why fans call him Patty. His nickname started in college when he played for St Mary's, and ever since then, the nickname stuck. Almost everyone nowadays calls him Patty. I think Mills is the only player in the NBA to have his nickname (Patty) as his name on his NBA.com profile, as well as the Spurs NBA TV Companion.
