Christ, Laker fans need to stop crying about the damn coach, tbh... the best team in LA is 27-8 with Vinny del Negro "coaching" them...

Tbh VDN might be coaching the West at the ASG, and even if he sucks at Xs and Os he doesn't run his stars into the ground.

5 Reasons the L.A. Lakers Aren't Making the NBA Playoffs This Year

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...offs-this-year

    BY GRANT HUGHES
    (FEATURED COLUMNIST)
    ON JANUARY 7, 2013

    Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

With L.A. now sitting three games under .500 after a Jan. 6 loss to the Denver Nuggets, the playoff chances for Kobe Bryant and the Lakers look increasingly slim.

It seems like nothing has gone right for L.A. since the season began. And now, playing for their third coach in two months and checking in as the Western Conference's 11th-best team, the Lakers are running out of time.

Maybe Kobe Bryant will start deferring to his teammates more, and perhaps Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard will suddenly shake off the injuries that seem to have sapped their respective strength. Those changes, and a great many more, will have to take place in short order for the Lakers to keep their sinking ship afloat.

At this point, there's just no reason to believe the Lakers have what it takes to shake themselves out of their season-long funk. There's just too much evidence to the contrary.

And if their downward spiral continues, what was once unthinkable will become reality: The Los Angeles Lakers aren't going to make the NBA playoffs this year.

Here are the five biggest reasons why.

Gasol roams around the perimeter like a glorified Matt Bonner. The difference, of course, being that Gasol isn't a knockdown shooter.

NopeI used to subscribe in SA your meadia actually has a great relationship with the franchise and it's stars Simers is an a-hole ...who couldnt carry the late Jim Murray's jock-strap. I guess I left L.A. at the right time (2002), Chick passed, Murray I still miss Vin Scully but the lA media (broadcast/print) is mostlty crap (Adande too) ...and papers are a dying industry (didnt yall watch the last season of the Wire?) Be thankful your guy (Sean something?) is not a hack like Simers who tries to bethe Skip Bayless of the LA times ...

Their only hope is to bring in one if not the GOAT head coach in the entire history of the nba, Kobe needs that as well as a stacked team to at least make the po's, pretty sad.

at least lakers have netted a winning records since _'antoni took office, and it's not much of the coach's fault to lose the game when 3 players of their best 4 sat out injured imho
