Usually, Europeans have real 4G but N/A carriers love to call it 3G 4G

I thought my HTC One S was 4G, well that was my screen displayed, and after rooting/flashing it showed only 3G

I checked my phone's specs and compared them with the standards, and no the One S is not 4G

Yeah, I think I know what lefty is talking about. I know in Toronto our providers implemented HSPA+ and were erronously calling it '4G' for a while. This was until they implemented LTE, now they correctly call this 4G. They're slimy assholes.

ATT and Tmobile are calling HSPA+ 4g, even after implementing LTE (in att's case). They differentiate by calling it 4g and 4gLTE.

tbh battery life on true 4g is the laughable part

Technically, by definition, 4g hasn't been deployed anywhere in the world yet, so you are correct that it is a buzzword.

Its a god damn ing shame how bad Motorola ed their consumers on this phone man. They did the 18 month upgrade pledge and then just said it. The hardware on the phone is fantastic but who the cares if you don't get to run the lastest software? HEY I HAVE THE MOST POWERFUL GB PHONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The worst was when they tried to make it up to the owners by offering them a rebate on a new full priced motorola phone. Yeah, me giving you more money is a of a way for you to say you're sorry. I'll never buy another Motorola product. Ever.

Yeah that's what I used, great stuff

Since you are an experienced rooter, you may not need to check the instructions, but if you do, I recommend that you watch the embedded YT video in the XDA thread
(much more detailed than the steps listed in the original post).

And if your phone is Hboot 1.13 or higher you will need to flash the kernel first with Flash Image GUI (amazing app from the Play Store, otherwise you would have to do it manually, which is the pain in the ass)
Then, you go to recovery and flash the ROM

Oh, and one last thing : install TWRP, not CMW ; I dont know about Sammys or other brands, but on HTC you are better off with the TWRP

J/k, went smoothly on my friend's One X+. Installed the CWM recovery that came with toolkit though - he can install TWRP if he wants. My phone doesn't come till next week.

But yeah, the build quality is awesome on that phone.

I hate Purolator. They try to deliver my phone today at 2:30 (I have ing work) then tell me to pick up my package at their depot half an hour in the other direction for my work and home.

I'm going there tomorrow morning before work tbh. Going to be a productive work day.
