I don't think the players knew till after the heat game only Doc knew. They knew he was hurt but not about the ACL
Pop will probably play it extra-cautious with Manu now. I wouldn't be surprised if he only plays in garbage time until the last few weeks of the season.

proud of Timmy he's a ing warrior tbh
Get over the "Pop shouldn't have played him" BS. Would you rather Duncan sit out for so long and possibly get hurt during the RRT? Like many have said, it was a freak accident. Y'all would keep your mouth shut if Duncan didn't get hurt tonight.
The news just showed TD walk to the locker room on his own.
Generally good until KG started talking about everyone's wives and dead relatives.
its not looking too bad, TBH

No guys, most people do not walk under their own power after ACL tears. I spent many months as a trainer in college and have seen lots of them. Most of the cry like a baby and need the support just to even stand. The injuries we've see in pro sports lately shows that modern medicine has moved so much with regards to the knee. AP was not supposed to lead the NFL in rushing after such a devastating injury but he did. A few seasons ago, Philip Rivers had torn his ACL, the day after he gets arthroscopic surgery to clear some cartilage, and it back on the field a week later.
If Tim's done this season, that sucks but I don't think that's the case. I do hope that they send him to see Dr. James Andrews though, that doctor is the king of orthopedists. He did both AP and Rivers and every superior athlete in any North American Sports League. His is the opinion we all want the most.
Clearly they don't talk to KG that often then, those are basically his version of a handshake and "hi, how are you doing"
Hardly. I was commenting on some of the initial reactions in the GDT.
Players being optimistic is a great news. It doesn't only indicate that Tim is feeling fine but also that stability tests done on his knee went well. We won't know for sure without a MRI but it sounds good so far.![]()
I'm not gonna breathe again until the results are in, tbh.
Tim walking without any assistance is big.. Post game I mean
Pretty true. A trainer can usually tell if the ACL or MCL is completely torn within a matter of seconds. So, yeah, it's good that there's a depressed mood.
But still, a partial tear (which would still be a season ender) usually takes an MRI to find.
duncan just save blairs job....
Didn't watch the game... praying with all you guys that it isn't something season ending. Screw my satisfaction as a fan of the team doing well... Tim's just a good guy having a great season and I'm wishing the best for him.
YOU WEBSTER.
jump off a bridge head
Quick question: Say it his ACL is torn but he has some movement and stability. Assuming we can make it pass the first round or two in the playoffs, do you think he could at least give it a go in the WCF or Finals? Not to be a downer, but I'd rather see Duncan out there on one leg than Bonner and Blair with two especially if its something career ending
No if it's a torn ACL, he's out until the beginning of next season at the earliest. Considering his age, he probably would need until ~Dec. of next season to return.
It might make it a little more interesting with the trade deadline approaching.
Envisioning a Willis Reed scenario are we
dunno how long duncan will be out, but that life time achievement award DPOY is going out the window![]()
If there's a tear, next season is Duncan's last.
For whatever it's worth, Jeff Sheen was saying on game react that the trainers wouldn't let him walk on his own if they thought he could make the injury worse. But then again, you couldn't make a torn ACL worse than it is.
