I hate to be that guy, but injuries are part of the game. Every team excluding the Thunder (for some odd reason) goes through them.

It's not even close to the Spurs' organization's fault.
Again, Clay Bennett must have given David Stern some voodoo dolls.

Whatever happens, whoever wins this season will have an asterisk. Rondo down, Lakers melting down, TD down...

(two can play at that game Laker fans )

Why would you shut him down? Whole point was for him to get experience. Duncan getting injured didn't make Baynes any more likely to be injured. If he doesn't get as much experience as he can with the game, it doesn't matter if he's hurt or not, we can't use him.

These injuries are nightmarishly unlucky, but not a product of poor management.
We just had two bigs (Blair and Bonner) missing a game with some knee issues, then Duncan goes down. The Spurs will likely need him to play minutes for the team, that's why you shut him down. He can gain experience playing with the Spurs too.

Parker talked to TD after the game. He says Duncan is positive and that he doesn't think it's anything big.

That MRI can't be soon enough.

No. A ring is a ring is a ring. It's always been not only about having a championship caliber squad, but going into the playoffs healthy and staying that way. Many things have to happen right for you. It's a contact sport, and these guys are huge but mostly skinny and their joints take a pounding. On a grand scale, some of their injuries wouldn't keep them out of something like football, but you have to be firing on all cylinders, especially your support structure, in the NBA.

This cognitive error is known as the gambler's fallacy. Unrelated events are still unrelated, even when they are grouped in time.

I just saw the play on Baynes. He got twisted up a little bit and went to the floor on a foul. He kind of waddled off the floor under his own power. Hopefully nothing serious. We may need his talents in SA for a little while for the near future.

It seems so ironic that he injured the same knee he's been resting for almost 2 weeks?

First Duncan, then Baynes, and when I got up to go to the fridge, my leg fell asleep and I could barely walk on it.

I know these all have to be freak accidents, but it still feels like something in the karma world is off.

Seems about a 50% chance unless he's got something I've not read about.

What would have prevented someone from some other team from falling on Duncan? I don't understand how you think any blame rests on the spurs
I'm not blaming the Spurs on the Duncan injury. I said I was 50/50 for him playing tonight, but I was 100% sure on Baynes being suited up for the Spurs tonight. These were my thoughts a couple of days ago. I was very suprised when I logged in and read that Baynes was going to be playing for the Toros.

If it was my decision I would have had Baynes playing and rested Tim. I'm OK with the Spurs playing Tim though, as I may have done the same, if he told me he wanted to play then I would have let him, but I definitely wanted Baynes playing no matter what. If he played, then maybe Tim wouldn't have even been on the court in that point of the game where he was injured. I thought that this was a prime game for Baynes to get minutes and more NBA experience.

The Spurs chose another option, that I never would have taken, and now both players are injured.

Here's a question to ponder though: if TD is out for an extended period of time, will Manu play more minutes to help carry the load with TP or will Pop limit his minutes even further to protect him and not risk two of our Big 3 from being out long?

Some thought him going to play for the Toros was a positive move, but now it doesn't look like it now that he is hurt as well. He could have been hurt here tonight as well or the next game, can't really see the future nor predict that unfortunately. I wanted to see more of him here though, guess we might have to wait.

Manu can't even get out there healthy himself it seems.

ING PATHETIC decision by the Spurs.

TD will miss some time for sure, but hopefully Tiago, Baynes, and Diaw can fill in for a little while. Tony Parker's comments/body language seemed to be genuinely positive about Tim getting back at some point during the Rodeo Trip. That would be great. Hopefully TD comes out of this OK in the near future.
