They don't have to take send out a player, but they have to send out SOMETHING.
So is Blair any closer to leaving? I'd prefer if we didn't move for anyone, and avoid disrupting team chemistry. I can't see us making any moves that would improve as a whole now.

Chris Broussard @Chris_Broussard Sebastian Telfair to Toronto For Hamed Haddadi deal done, source says

Celtics will send the Leandro Barbosa expiring contract to the Wizards for Jordan Crawford, league source tells Y! Sports.
that something is called a "Trade Exception"..
Didn't Haddadi just get traded? I thought players couldn't get traded twice so fast, I guess I made that rule up in my head.
If you read that closely, you'll see that TEs are not sent from one team to another. TE's are created as a result of certain trades. When this is all said and done, it will be reported that Memphis sent something of value (a highly protected future draft pick or draft rights to an international that will never come to the NBA, etc.) to Miami.
They could trade for a trade exception or draft pick which wouldn't change chemistry.
No I think they just cannot be retraded back to the team they originally came from.
Haddadi, Pittman, Telfair, Crawford, injured Barbosa - wow.. this trade deadline sure seems a trade "dud"line..
Sorry, but events will prove you wrong.
I don't think moving Blair is going to disrupt the team chemistry. The guy barely plays.
well 1 more hour
You don't take back a trade exception. It is created when you send out a player without getting salary in return. It is not an item and cannot be traded to any other team, and so it doesn't cout as getting something in a trade.
Thanks Mel_13 and Chinook. My bad.
SpursTalk is fritzing out on me. It's giving me postquotes that I can't read.
stop discussing trade exceptions ... I want some news!
Can I get an update on whats going on? In 100 words or less. Ready? Go.
Just 1 word - nothing.
Eh, it's not your fault. People misreport it all the time. It's just faster to say that a team traded a TE rather than explaining that process of reducing their own TE which allows for a new one to be created.
Spurs won't make a move but are listed in every other scenario.
In other words, SSDTD. (Same , different trade deadline.)
Ok, just making sure its a regular Spurs trade deadline. I'll check back later to see if we landed Stephen Jackson. Wait, what?
When you are a fan of the team with the best record, you either want your team to hit a homerun or pray that any other trades are duds. As long as Miami, Clippers, and Thunder don't get better, then the Spurs should be happy.
