He's stalking Jabbar. He's wise & devious enough to realize every single game is of import. He not only wants to climb over Jabbar, but, he wants to go on long enough to feel safe enough from James & Durant. I don't blame him. Kobe is a spiteful person. I'm kinda like that.

lol constantly tweeting pictures to enhance the perception that the ankle was actually injured.

Watch him limp down the court after every highlight play so the cameras will be sure to catch it and make it the top story on ESPN.
He doesn't have to limp to be the top story on ESPN, of all places

Tbh, he should have faked way more injuries all season long. Why would he do it now that the Lakers started to play moderately better? He should have faked injuries when they were losing to teams like the Cavs and Suns and Magic and Raptors.
It makes perfect sense honestly. He shot horribly in the first half, then after a good 3rd quarter went 2-9 in the 4th and cost the Lakers the game. Suddenly he's got a "severe ankle sprain". Instead of talking about losing to the hopeless Hawks, the media is fawning over what a warrior he is.

And what do you mean "should have"? Kobe HAS been claiming one injury after another all season long. he practically broke his elbow if you believe reports, except that 3 minutes later he was chucking 3 pointers in game.

What a major injury-exaggerating got Kirby truly is, tbh....

I'll never understand how anyone can root for this guy, whether he's pulling stunts like this, hogging the ball to pad his stats, throwing his teammates under the bus, or of course, raping and snitching....
Maybe because he has contributed to the Lakers in a major way, winning 5 out of 7 les.. and being a big part of the teams success.. that logic

Makes perfect sense with his team down 2 points and if a free throw or free throws are missed, he can take another hero shot to win or tie the game?

Complaining about an injury and still playing is not the same thing as the suggestion by some that Kobe actually faked an injury.

Kobe hate on here is so crazy sometimes.

You're right, he's probably just such a warrior that he's going to play through a severe ankle sprain. You know, the injury that professional athletes cannot walk on for a week at a time. But Kobe's just that tough.

It's not crazy. It's realistic. It's tripe. As soon as it was diagnosed as "severe" there were a number of ST posters here that were calling that he would be back next game. On a severe ankle sprain, that is impossible. Not unlikely, not improbable. Impossible. The crazy part of all this isn't the hate, it's the obvious fact that the Lakers + Kobe do a little song and dance to make every tiny little injury he has out to be as dire as possible. Anything to glorify det image that he's a warrior, just like MJ.

He's not catching Kareem. Not a chance. So if that's what this is all about, he's a ing failure.Even if he does, Kareem >>>>>>> Kobe. He scored all those points from 2-point range. The old-fashioned way.

You have to give him credit, though..

He's the best media manipulator I've ever seen, tbh..

The sprained ankle story was magnified enough that I haven't heard ANYBODY mention Kobe going 11-33 and the Lakers losing to a Hawks team that was missing 3 of their top 4 players..

    Brilliant media manipulating, tbh..
pretty much. Probably the closest I've seen to a true sociopath in sports. Unfortanetly so many in the media are as narcissistic and starved for attention they don't see anything wrong with some of his behavior. The funniest was earlier this season when he was going thru his Tragic Johnson phase, every assist was so overstated so that the media knew it all started because of him.

Kobe can't control the >>>>>>> argument above. He knows that. He can control the amount points he amasses. He knows that. And that is his killing ground.

What a ing got. If he plays tonight I will have lost what microscopic level of respect I had for him.

lol "severely sprained" normally means out weeks, not a day.

I love you DMC I really do...but why does it always take Kool to be the voice of reason around here...listen Kobe is nothing short of in a single word

    COURAGEOUS!!!

The guy is like half cyborg half assassin... I can't figure out how he does it...I just chalk it up to simply he's a once on a lifetime gift that we should all appreciate...let me explain it for you....

Let's start with the broken hand on the early years he came back from that after I think 3.5 weeks he literally willed himself to heal:

Then we have the infamous finger...where he literally played with it broken and dislocated for over a year...he wore this sleeve and still shot the ball well...

Next we have the debilitating back spasms that forced him to his knees...he someone willed his way through that and continued playing:

He then had to face bone on bone knee issues and he still delivered for us back 2 back (no Shaq) les:

Next up we have the torn ligament in his wrist he played all season with that in a valiant but losing effort:

Then he played through a concussion and broken nose (compliments of She-Wade):

Finally we have the ankle and even though it's severely sprained he's going to find the strength to play through it...

Amazing is all I have to say...

I said I was out until I felt the basketball gods were treating us fairly...it looks as if they may have heard me and healed Kobe's ankle..plus the NBA recognized they ed up and basically issued Kobe an apology...so for now I'm content...but if we start a losing streak then I'm out...
