this is where you couldn't be more wrong....by his impact on the game and his rings...Duncan and Shaq were dominant at times but there is a reason the fans voted Kobe as the player of the decade because over that same 10 yr stretch as Shaq and Duncan he consistently proved he was a level above them from stats and rings for the duration of the decade...sure you can cherry pick your years and in some years that may have had statistically better seasons but not over the course of the era or the decade...that's why Kobe won it...and I'm sorry if Charles Barkley's little brain can't comprehend that...

From a traditional "measurement" standpoint I'm going to use this explanation from the Poster DMills from LG.
Great summation. And the hing is I would love to see the ers on here go to Rucker, Santa Monica the Wooden Center etc with some of the bull arguments of data win shares etc. Lebron is a beast he is admired by nerds on a computer and by ballers who play no dount about it. But for basketball purists you can watch Kobe and Lebron dribble PAss (though Lebron is a greater passer) shoot, get in a defensive stance etc. And not clearly see Kobe does most of that better ...period. I like some advanced metrics dont get me wrong ... I just trust what I see more. heck even Stan Van Gundy mentioned at the MIT conference that it is to validate things you see or open your eyes to things you might miss. Lebron is like a freak of nature and it's like comparing Bo Jackson one of the greatest athlete I have ever seen in person to Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith. LEbron is skillful but like Bo he is just naturally bigger and stronger and faster than everyone. He has great skill but his talent is so great he does not need to refine his craft like MJ and Kobe before him who were both great athletes ... just not as great as Lebron. Both are better "pure" players ...as someone else mentioned Lebron is more Ronaldo than Messi ... we all know who is Kobe's favorite player and who Messi prefers ...

Im not here to say Kobe is better than Lebron right now that would be foolish. And I have maintained all season Lebron has a "chance" to surpass them both. But those that act as though that has already happened or is a foregone conclusion ... make me laugh. Lebron still has PLENTY of work to do ...

And my above post is no knock on Lebron. I think teh writer got it right Lebron's post moves are ugly but the bottom line is he gets buckets. I also had an unorthodox or ugly post game. as long as it's 2 points who cares?!

Just dont get why Lebron fans cant admit despite getting better at shooting and post play his is ugly ...who gives a . LEbron fanbois are just as defensive as Kobe fanbois ...

pretty sure i gave pau's stats over the course of the series where he played pretty damn well. kobe was laying bricks throughout the series. With the Lakers facing elimination in game 6, Pau went off for 17, 13, and 9 with 3 blocks. He came up biggest in games 6 and 7 with the Lakers backs against the wall while in those games Kobe combined to shoot 15-43
    Let's put 6-24 into perspective...

Game 7, Pau shot 6-16 (and was 3-12 at halftime). Artest was 7-18. Bynum was 1-5, Odom was 3-8. Farmar, Shannon Brown and Sasha combined to shoot 0-6. Only Fisher, at 10 points on 4-6 from the field...

For the Celtics, Paul Pierce was 5-15 from the field. Rondo was 6-13, which was actually pretty decent in this game... Ray Allen was 3-14. Nate Robinson missed his only shot. Rasheed Wallace took 11 shots to score 11 points which puts him on par with Kobe with regards to offensive efficiency. Glen Davis was good, but his efficiency (4-6 from the field) didn't come in high enough volume (only six points in 21 minutes)...Only KG had "a good game" offensively for the Celtics, shooting well over fifty percent and scoring 18 points on 13 shots.

The criticism of Kobe's offensive output in Game 7 is that he needed 24 shots to get his 23 points. However, the same is true of just about every player in this game. Virtually every player listed above took essentially as many shots as he had points. In fact, that is true of both teams overall: The Celtics took 71 shots to score 79 points (1.1 points per shot), while the Lakers took 83 shots to score their 83 points. At this point, here is the question that needs to be asked: Why are we holding Kobe Bryant to a different standard?

Is it because he's MJ's heir...

    Horry > Kobe tbh

For that matter, I'm not sure why people keep saying Kobe's the best besides Jordan since...
    Pippen - 6
    Kobe - 5

    no comparison, really

    As long as we're clear:

    Sam Jones: 10
    Kobe: 5

literally twice as good as Kobe

depends on the science...Lebron's science is elementary science with little beakers and dissecting frogs...(i.e no watered down league) while Kobe's art is like God creating the heavens....

depends on the science...Lebron's science is like Einstein developing the Theory of Relativity... while Kobe's art is like Jackson Pollock splashing a canvas with paint (chucking) hoping a pattern emerges (made shot) ....
