Even you don't believe that. Quite the difference in winning games (especially when team are trying and fine tuned going into the playoffs..) and a team's health, quality and style of play going into the playoffs. By your logic, since the Spurs have had the best regular season record for a while, they should have been a lock in recent years..

If the Spurs stayed healthy, they would have at least one more le right now. Probably two. Either way, how many les have the Thunder won based on this sample size? I think when healthy we're the 2nd best team in the league.


And by their very nature, playoffs are NEVER locks, since the sample size for those games are comparatively small. You can't argue for the validity of the breadth of sample size and then use playoffs to prove your point.
