It wouldn't. No Lakers = less viewers. Bandwagon fans who only watch for certain teams/players wouldn't watch if they weren't playing. Not much money to be made off watching the Jazz get swept.

Because they're trying to keep the league fairly compe ive, plus there's only so much a team can be carried with freethrows. Who the knows, Stern could decide to lift the Lakers to the Finals with it being his last year as fuehrer.
