I'm shocked and disappointed.
This is a huge huge bummer. At his worst Jax was still an additional solid defender who can guard the 3 spot.
This is quickly shaping up to be one of the crappier Spurs seasons of the past 10 years.
What a selfish got - especially for ruining the chemistry on this team. It's too bad that Red trade never happened. He'd be a hundred times more productive than Jax has been this year.

You fail to see the larger implications, which is MORE ING MINUTES FOR THAT RED-HEADED PIECE OF .
SJax's ancient rep with Spurs fans from 2003 far exceeded his contribution.
He's never been an efficient shooter, playmaker. He did lift his AST and RB after he left the Spurs, but nothing outstanding. And he still need tons of shots to score.
He overrates himself horribly. Summer 2003, he asked for $10M, Spurs offered $3M. ATL loved him so much to pay him $1M
Has been a cancer everywhere else.
His leaving is dramatic, but I really doubt it will bother the Spurs, who already have huge problems with injuries and really, really ty playing in Mar, Apr. No mojo, no momentum, no self confidence.
Maybe Pop will let Blair play?
Jack also showed his true colors by his comments over the shannon brown cheap shot...which revealed his loyalty to his "thug" brothers was stronger than that of a teammate.. truly a selfish de able s bag.
Whats yalls thoughts on throwing Al Jefferson Crazy Cash?
Didn't read the thread at all, did you?
Crazy times in Spursland.....I gotta side with Pop. That is a move of a strong leader to waive a player right before the playoffs for the overall good of the team. What a message that sends to the players and the organization. Chemistry, at ude, respect and knowing your role are more important than ego. Sounds like the Spurs and I like it!
Jackson wasn't going to be the difference maker in a playoff series anyway....still shocking news though.
I have no problem with Jax saying he's better than DG. For all those focusing on Jax's stats Bonner is a regular season performer but that has meant nothing in the playoffs. In fact if we just focused on regular season performance we should have waived Horry during our championship years. Yet can you use regular season stats to evaluate the value of Horry's performance in game 5 in '05?
I doubt it because Pop will use his go to "We need him to stretch the floor" BS card to justify that er's playing time.
Stak Jack, I need time to digest this. The loss of my man Stak has put a dark cloud over my weekend.
This is not good for the Spurs family.
When did he say he was better than DG? Link?
Jax on crutches would be a better defender than Neal/Bonner/Blair.
Ego's got in the way and neither side was willing to budge but you're right, more minutes for the Red Menace.
+1 this decision. I have a feeling "Jack" was more of a locker room cancer and distraction than anyone imagined and his departure may just galvanize the team.
I may not agree with Pop all the time on personnel decisions but I applaud this move.
Like timvp said, my first reaction to this was "wow." But then my second reaction was that Jack hasn't been playing that well, and that the Spurs must be ready to really lean on Leonard to do something this ballsy. I hope their gamble pays off.
edit: here we go:
"Thanks to all my fans for the support and love," Jackson wrote. "I would never say a player is better than me when I know their not. Not for no one." He ended with the hashtags "uandiknowwhatsgoingon" and "keeponpushin."
This is all about Jack being jealous that Leonard is kicking his ass. Leonard >>> Jack and that's why Leonard has taken all of his minutes like the bo$$ he is.

LOL! The shock on some posters here is priceless. If you scared, goto church.....lol
I applaud this move. Current events have definately been "cutting at the edges." Whoever called for this move is looking forward and rules with a clear mind. When your ship has a leak, you plug it up and right the course. Captain Jack single handedly threw away a few big leads for us, and seems to provide extra heartache off the court which is the main reason for this move. Probably does and says whatever he wants but he plays like he retired after last years playoffs.
Does this hurt the team? Big-time. The guys gotta pull together collectively and dig deep now at that SF position. At least you don't gotta worry about him being on the court to throw monkey wrenches in the machine. I loved Jack, I really did. I feel let down though and if he feels hurt by being waived, than I'd insist that he look at the friends and teamates like Timmy who he royally ed over with these shenanigans.
Good luck on your journey Jack, may God steer u clear of evils - but u gotta hit the road.
The thing that gets me is if it was a locker room situation then we have bigger problems because that locker room is pretty solid filled with a lot of Vets. I mean, who would want to cross Timmy?
If we're waiving players because of performance then most of the bench should be getting there bags packed.
So yahoo is reporting that there was disagreement with his role, which was having a negative impact on the younger players. I'm sure his issues at home weren't helping the situation.
2 things (for now)
1. This doesn't guarantee Bonner more minutes...I think pop is gonna push kawhi to his limits this playoffs, meaning he will play a lot of minutes. Shouldn't be a problem for a 20/21 year old. I would rather see this, than him sitting in favor of Jackson. Kawhi needs to be on the floor. He is the spurs hope this playoffs. He'll either break out or he won't.
2. Who might Jackson sign with?...I would think someone, a contending team, would take him. Can he sign? I don't know the rules...
I know 20 pages is a lot.. but a lot of what you guys are posting has been mentioned already :P.. let's talk replacement, even if he's not going to be very useful on this playoff run.
His role was towel waiving, next to mills...and he was pretty good at it. Once he starts to negatively affect the team, in particular the younger guys, he's gotta go. That's on jack and just shows what a class act the spurs truly are. Hearing that this was brewing for days, I'm sure the spurs waited as long as they could with it. Enough was enough.
Maybe it's time to move onto a different thread? Just a suggestion...
