maybe pop is retiring and trying to run the franchise into the ground before he leaves. i don't know..
Wow, I haven't commented in quite some time but this point in the season with everything that is going on with this team has just made me want to share in the confusion, frustration and lack of optimism going into the playoffs. This after a few choke jobs in the first round and then last year's collaspe. And barely beating Sacramento didn't quite make me see any light at the end of the tunnel.

Way I look at our current sitch is:
all the years we've won a chip, I don't think I saw it coming until it was in my face. I never underestimate my Spurs, and you should not ever either.
That's Something certain people should have learned a lonng time ago.
EDIT: Well 2005, Manu just had a crazy look in his eyes, and I saw it then.
Rick Jackson.
Parker seemed very bitter towards Jack in his interview. You can tell he's disappointed in Jack.
He should be. The team is hurting with injuries just before the start of the playoffs and Jack has the audacity to about playing time. What a got. I might have felt bad for him if he was playing well but he sucked just about any time he stepped on the court. him. At least Jefferson could shoot straight and didn't whine about his role on the team.
All of a sudden the RJ/Jax trade isn't looking so good lmao. I'm sure our front office know what they are doing. That said, no manu, no jax, no diaw, parker hobbled = .
Nope, Spurs lose that ability at the trade deadline. You can't trade expiring contracts in June.
The only ed up thing is ppl are forgetting jackson lost a son just a few weeks ago. That will up anyones brain. I hope and really hope spurs tried everything to sit jax down and talk to him. Cause if they didnt, the spurs tbh. And pop
I think it was coherent with Spurs history, players have no doubt what Spurs want from them.
Did you even read the thread? This has apparently been brewing since BEFORE the trade deadline in February.
Jax was on the trade block, but given the CBA big money expiring deals aren't as lucrative as before.
He wasn't playing well anyway.
It takes a lot of to make Pop waive a trusted vet. He only waived Finley when it was clear he could not contribute and he wanted to go to a contender.
Jack had BALLS, but I guess he was causing friction in the locker room. Pop don't play dat.
Pop just flexing those whos the boss muscles per par
People are actually shocked that SJax -- the guy who followed Artest into the stands, the guy who shot a gun outside a strip club, the guy who had a recent family tragedy -- they are shocked that he went a little crazy! It was bound to happen sooner or later.
Thanks for the info. If we had already lost the ability to get anything from a trade, then we aren't losing much by waiving him. He can't shoot worth a damn (never shot a decent average for his career and its been worse over the past four years) and he can't defend since he's too old and slow and has to foul against perimeter players.
Some fans here think he had a great at ude that made him a playoff hero. The only at ude he ever exhibited was an oversized ego about his own talent. That's why he was let go the first time and apparently was a problem again if he was whining about other players getting more playing time. God knows his play this year has been ineffective and almost embarassing to watch. He'd been relegated to bench warmer meaningless minutes for a reason.
Giving him time in the playoffs against competent opponents was going to be a sad joke and a detriment to the team.
True dat, and I'm quite sure that Jack's teammates and coaches fully supported him and his family during that very difficult time, following the tragic loss of their infant child. Yet, but Jack has been in the NBA long enough to know that you've got to keep it professional. He likes to think of himself as a loyal cat. Well, you don't show your loyalty by bailing on your teammates, especially when they're already short-handed, and right before the playoffs. It's pretty clear that, during a time when he should've been demonstrating his supposed leadership qualities and thinking about the team, Jack was clearly only thinking only of himself.
What troubles in the locker room. Tim, Manu, and TP are vets that could have straightened out Jax if necessary. Pop's basically saying he doesn't trust their leadership. This is a straight ego move on Pop's part. Jax is like 90% of the toughness the team has been missing the past couple of seasons.
God damn guys, you all sound like a bunch of suicidal teenagers. Kill yourselves if it hurts that much.
This isn't really that big of a deal. Jackson was mostly useless this year. Just give more minutes to Leonard and Baynes and we'll be fine. Remember, this team is not (and was not) deep to begin with. That was last year. This team just needs a solid 8-man rotation. Jackson was, if anything, at the end of tha rotation.
...we're not losing in the first round
This is so stupid and so non-Spurs I dont know what else to say. Bad management and/or a super-stupid player. What does it take to get kicked out of a team right before the playoffs? Just STUPID
Dude's a headcase. I said so awhile back and was besieged by the usual gang of know-it-alls.
Good riddance.
What if Tim, TP and Manu approved of this move?
What if you were a defender of Pop regardless of the issue?
I haven't declared anything one way or the other.
Don't get all pissy, coward.
Chumpdumper is probably the most useless poster here. You know whatever happens he will defend his house god. Trolls can be funny sometimes but he is like Pop cannot do anything wrong because he is Pop.
