The police departments are falling all over themselves congratulating themselves, which is fine as far as it goes, but the thing is that the suspect was noticed by a resident of the neighborhood who told the police that he found a guy with blood all over himself in a boat in that backyard.
The police did very well, but it was the member of the public who broke the case for the second suspect.
I think that's kinda cool.

Sounds like the asshole was unconscious, since in the press conference they said he wasn't communicating when they tried to get him to surrender.
After all the warnings, the guy went and looked in the boat with the trail of blood and saw the guy instead of just calling police right away!
If he had not been injured in the previous gunfight, they may still not know where he was.
