They can't really "check the bags" because people are coming and going the entire marathon, along the 26 miles. Even if they posted a cop every quarter mile, a dedicated bomber could probably slip through.

This. And SA, you didn't respond to my belief that technology makes it HARDER to get away with things, now that a good population of America has cell phones with camera/video and near instant access to the web to upload evidence.
Just a note: I've heard this a few times, but it doesn't seem to take into account that he probably wouldn't have hid in a boat if there wasn't a lockdown. If there wasn't a lockdown, he probably would've tried to escape the city. The dragnet ensured that he had to stay IN the city somewhere. I don't think hiding in a boat would've been his ideal choice if transportation was still running.
Why does SA210 take his child to a government run school? Seems counter-intuitive to me...

Well, I'm not sure of the exact timeline, but he drove away from the shootout, stashed the car, and then at some time hid in the boat. Of course, since he was bleeding a ton he probably would've been found if he stepped out, but the police didn't know that. So the police are assuming he's somewhere in this general area and closed the net as best they could. If he HAD tried to escape, it would've been much harder to do so with the dragnet than without.

This case will be buried and treated as such. I find it hard to believe a guy like tamerlan if truly guilty would not be involved with a foreign group or at the very least learned from a foreign group.
I've argued with SA2001, but this is flat out throwing a case away. Hiding Incompetence with Foreign group not involved, picking the easiest target to point.
Two birds in one stone.
This kid needs to talk publicly. Name others involved, Admit guilt or claim innocence. If this is how they're going to end the case maybe i'll end up having a a few drinks with SA2001.

It's pretty obvious these two were all alone on this. Way too shabby to be plotted out with some mastermind in hiding.. Sure the older brother was involved with that Islam bull but they worked alone.

If tamerlan truly worked alone, it would be incredibly difficult to almost impossible to point out a potential "terrorist". Russia must have linked him to to a radical group during his 6 month stay back in his home town.

These guys were more than likely, imo, FBI/CIA informants working/being talked to/coached by them for 3-5 years as the mother said, starting with Tamerlan. The alert from Russia I think was them getting su ious of Tamerlan's trips, etc (imo which our govt was probably the ones sending him), which is why nothing came of it. The dudes probably thought they were helping the FBI with a practice drill at the marathon..then boom..setup.

I don't want to hear anything from the kid other than the truth. The point is not what he will be saying, but how he should be saying it. Tamerlan wasn't that defined and had hair on his chest. That picture is someone else...obviously.
What will it take before the sane world attacks islam and destroys it? Think how much better off we'd all be without it. It really is getting a bit ridiculous.
