That was a great read.
And although we've all heard/read it before I just love the "Oh, , I don't know anything about innovation," he says, rising. "Here is my innovation: I drafted Tim Duncan. Okay? End of story." quote.
Fabulous article. You have to admire the system that has evolved around Pop. It is a testament to everyone doing their job and buying into the system, even when the system is just forming. Pop obviously is intelligent and very charismatic.
it really bothers me when people accept the word "conspiracy" as a synonym for bull . A conspiracy is a plot, a plan, that is kept secret. It happens all the time in all of history, across the political and cultural spectrums. And yet when the word conspiracy is tagged onto something, it has a dog whistle effect and many people automatically dismiss it.
anyways, good read. Pop drives me crazy sometimes but I have a ton of respect for his intellect and character, he just irradiates integrity. I started a management job that I was totally unprepared for shortly after becoming a spur fan and immediately started aping the "get over yourself" / everyone is accountable / family first themes to my team of people, and it definitely helped.
Wow jack, this is almost as good as Ludden!
I think Pop is doing the world a disservice if he doesn't write several books in his retirement. Organizational Management, Autobiography, Political Science, etc.
Great article. Must read if youre an NBA fan.
Pop has it all, he likes wine and Truffaut
great read
oh and good luck to all the curious that are going to watch some Godard's movies tbh
How have I never seen the "Pop Culture" phrase until now?
i'm an official member of the church of pop. love his going sideways when in northern cali.
great read. Pop is the best
Finally read it. Fan ing tastic. Said it before and will keep saying it. We are truly blessed to be Spurs fans.
That awkward moment when you finally grab a copy of SI, only to have already read the Pop article in SpursTalk.
