They were much better than their seed indicated. And I know Lakers fans are trying to excuse this disaster with injuries, but the very reason so many players were injured was because of the failure of the front office. Filling the roster with old players and then hiring a coach known to not use a bench (instead of the coach who has won 11 championships and knows how to pace a veteran roster throughout an NBA season) was about the worst decision I have ever seen an NBA FO make. And this same FO was complicit in Kobe suffering a possible career ending injury. No NBA player wants to sit or rest, especially with the season on the line, but Laker brass, for Kobe's best interest and health, should've forced him to sit. I don't give a how much clout Kobe has, he doesn't own the Lakers, and someone, whether it was D'Antoni, Buss, or Kupchak should've stepped up and reigned in his minutes.
From management to the players on the court (Dwight under performing, Nash sucking, Gasol sulking because he didn't want to come off the bench) the 2012-13 Lakers failed in every which way imaginable.
