Refreshing to finally to see a Laker fan acknowledge it was Gasol and not Capt 6-24 leading that team to those two rings.
Fine. You go with that and I'll go with this one:

Kwame's contract led to Z-bo. We basically traded the draft rights to Pau's fat little brother for prime Pau. The Gift ended any chance of 5 = 5. So even if this is permanent, let's boil it down: 5 > 4.

I don't get why 8 is supposed to be as bad as The Achilles.

Can't be worse than Dallas in 2007.

    61 - 46 = 15
    67 - 42 = 25

8 isn't in the same universe of embarrassment as the 2012-13 Lakers. Memphis finished the season on a 22-10 run and then took OKC to 7 after they beat the Spurs. They were much better than their seed indicated. Lkrfan is just reaching for any Spur failure to use to try and deflect from the 2012-2013 Lakers being the biggest failure in sports history.

8 isn't even the biggest failure in Spurs history. That goes to the '95 team.

Do the numbers 0-16 without Kobe mean anything to you? Now that's refreshing.

Even for a lakerfan, how do you even begin to defend this massive failure of a season for the Lakers? I understand fandom but you gotta call it like it is.

And, like this season's Grizz, were better without Gay. Didn't Golden State finish the season on fire in 2007, too?

1995 had the reigning MVP against a 47 win 6th seed. That was even worse than Rse choking against Miami.

Not deflecting, but rather, correcting. Am I disappointed in the Lakers' season? I'll put it to you like this, when we are loaded and don't win, yeah. However, there are a myriad of reasons why we lost this year. But for sake of being called a pussy or an asshole, I'll plead the 5th.

All BS to the side, 8 is worst than Lakers' 2013 season. Sure, we had expectations and didn't live up to them. You guys had your big 3 that had been together for a decade and lost to a team that would have lost in the sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA tournament.
No it isn't. Not even close. 8 seeds have beaten 1 seeds before. Never has a 120 million dollar roster with 2 MVP award winners, 2 NBA champions, two DPOY award winners, one of whom a 4 time selection, failed to win a playoff game, or even failed to lose a playoff game by less than double-digits

The 2012-13 Los Angeles Lakers set a new standard for failure. When the next big bust in the NBA happens, they'll ask, "You think they were a bigger failure than the 2012-13 Los Angeles Lakers?"

Glad to see you're moving into the acceptance stage of grief.

And I know Lakers fans are trying to excuse this disaster with injuries, but the very reason so many players were injured was because of the failure of the front office. Filling the roster with old players and then hiring a coach known to not use a bench (instead of the coach who has won 11 championships and knows how to pace a veteran roster throughout an NBA season) was about the worst decision I have ever seen an NBA FO make. And this same FO was complicit in Kobe suffering a possible career ending injury. No NBA player wants to sit or rest, especially with the season on the line, but Laker brass, for Kobe's best interest and health, should've forced him to sit. I don't give a how much clout Kobe has, he doesn't own the Lakers, and someone, whether it was D'Antoni, Buss, or Kupchak should've stepped up and reigned in his minutes.

From management to the players on the court (Dwight under performing, Nash sucking, Gasol sulking because he didn't want to come off the bench) the 2012-13 Lakers failed in every which way imaginable.

8 actually happened 3 times in NBA history

The Lakers 2013 season has never happened before, and will never be duplicated.

The reason of such uniqueness to the 2013 Laker season (which is so unique and have so many levels of failure) is because of the magnitude of failure.

The Magical Season, the greatest team to ever take the field. I was a huge Lions fan that year.

For the record I attended every home game of the 2001 UH football teams 0-11 campaign and I find this thread to be a wonderful place where I can lay down some roots and settle in for a while.

In the long and distinguished history of bad takes on spurstalk, this might be the worst. Worse than manu>dirk, worse than diaw>lee, even worse than dudley>carmelo. Seriously son, do you even know what basketball is?

From what? The thread is about NOT being the biggest failure in sports history, and this year's Clippers fit the criteria.... meanwhile, the Lakers spent $100 million and guaranteed 73 wins and a ring only to be the laughingstock of the sports world all season long

Keep spinning, though, your butthurt is palpable
    still deflecting
