Great....as if all you UT apologists needed a reason to explain away the ass-kicking.

Austin police are investigating allegations that individuals involved in the University of Texas athletics program committed robbery and assault in two separate incidents in September and earlier this month.
Police said this afternoon that one incident happened Sept. 4, and the other happened early Dec. 10, a Saturday morning.
"Due to the fact that these crimes are still being investigated, APD cannot provide additional information," a police statement read.
According to a police report, the Dec. 10 incident occurred at 2:59 a.m. at 500 E. Seventh St. near the Sixth Street entertainment district. The report said that police took a call concerning an attempted robbery by assault in which a suspect used his hands, fist or feet to assault a victim.
The second incident happened Sept. 4 at 3:06 a.m. The report did not list the location, but it stated that officers were dispatched to an assault and that an automatic handgun was involved.
University athletic officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

UT cornerback Cedric Griffin is said to be cooperating with APD investigators.

Remember when all that Cedric Benson plasma TV thing went down, and it was supposed to be some huge scandal - but turned out to be nothing?
I'll put this in that category until anything is proved.
As are most people. , I didn't even remember that plasma thing.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is something about some people thinking they can big-time some UT players and these are the incidents.
Maybe some guys trying to mouth off and threatened the players.
I wouldn't doubt it being what you said in the least. UT players are celebrities in Austin - the girls swarm them, and guys like you said, try to big-time them to impress somebody.
I'll bet it all blows over after an investigation.
yeah cedric went to a girls apt, who had his tv and banged on her door to give him his tv
ced griffin beat someone up
apparently michael houston (who is transferring) flashed a gun
and ramonce taylor did something really stupid
thats what i gather as of right.......... now
If some stupid took my plasma screen I'd have done the same.
My thoughts exactly. If true, lets hope that there's no punishment until AFTER the Rose Bowl. The last thing I want to hear is a bunch of Longhorn apologists using this as an excuse for why they got their asses kicked.
This is pretty big. They did not release names and ced supposedly had a gun?
Meanwhile i just got 1st hand information that Ramonce was showboating at Gregory gym against kim-jong-il and general T S O and risking injury.
UT players are starting to piss me off.....
So RT demanded some guy's cash & threw this dude around & MH flashed a handgun that was stolen? Wonder who stole it?
All over UT msg boards it sounds like RT might be gone even if these aren't the concrete facts.
Who was that Thug Life wannabe from DC that played TE for the Horns in the early 90s?
Lovell Pinkney, I think.
does it really sound like there is enough evidence? or is just something that will die down soon?
I heard that the APD (crooked ass corrupt bas s) has already said that they havent issued any warrants and arent going after anyone for charges on anything
M Houston though, good riddance
From the looks of what I have seen on ESPN today, it wasn't the Basketball team stealing anything...OUCH! What happenned to the Horns?
no buckman
no gibson
no nuts
horrendus FT shooting
jj re like reigning from upon from Tenn SCRUBassSCRUBs
turnovers
jesus it was painful
AH...but they are within 11 now still time to STEAL a win
UNK, I should state that much of what I read was speculation & stuff heard from "friends of friends".
I read the stmnt Ced's lawyer gave to ESPN. I think Ced Griff might be the guy that APD is getting much info from.
I think if any of this is true then get the rotten apple off the team. Mack is all class & his team should be too.
If this all blows over then I'd be happy but, I'm glad this is all happening weeks before the game instead of 2-3 days.
AUSTIN – University of Texas officials repeated Saturday that they plan to take no action against two football players who are being investigated by Austin police in connection with two alleged assaults – on Sept. 4 and Dec. 10.
Patricia Ohlendorf, Texas' vice president for ins utional and legal affairs, also said she is unaware of any connection between UT student-athletes and the alleged Sept. 4 incident. According to police, at 3:06 a.m. Sept. 4, a suspect pulled an automatic handgun and committed an aggravated assault.
"We don't know anything about what allegedly transpired on September 4th," she said. "We know of no connection to our student-athletes. And if there had been any alleged connection to something that happened three months ago, we would have known sooner."
Meanwhile, Austin attorney Ken Oden is advising sop re running back Ramonce Taylor in addition to senior cornerback Cedric Griffin. Both have been questioned in connection with the Dec. 10 incident, Oden said.
"I'm working to show the dramatic events of September 4th do not relate at all to Cedric or Ramonce," Oden said. "I'm confident we'll be able to present information that will have everyone reaching the conclusion that Ramonce or Cedric were in completely different places with different people and couldn't be involved ... ."
Oden acknowledges that Griffin and Taylor were together in the Sixth Street entertainment district after the team's banquet on the night of Dec. 9 and into the early morning hours of Dec. 10. Griffin, who has been invited to the Senior Bowl, started every game this season. Taylor has started the last four games, rushing for 501 yards (7.0 a carry) and 11 touchdowns. Second-ranked Texas (12-0) will face top-ranked USC (12-0) for the national le Jan. 4 in the Rose Bowl.
Oden said the two players communicated with a group of men they came in contact with during what Oden called "a testosterone-charged moment on the sidewalk."
Oden said he made two trips to the Austin Police Department on Saturday to help authorities get information from Griffin and Taylor. Oden said he was contacted by Taylor's family on Saturday.
"The family members of these kids are scared to death about what's being reported," Oden said. "The September event has been reported as having a gun involved. And anything with that kind of overtone leaves parents worried about their sons' reputations, their academic status at the school and their status with the team."
yeah the ikng austin pd. those omther ers are the most crooked cops ive ever ing seen. let me run across one of them on the streets. crooked ass drug stealing mother ers. ive lost all respect for the APD and would believe nothing they say.
Don Harris also said that the School and Police have both basicly cleared them
