Heat is not Grizzlies who are slow and methodical and no fast hands. Manu's style best suits Heat for turn-overs since Heat has fast hands and once Manu starts his ziggy zaggy drives or starts to dribble around, its like saying come get me... and off the heat goes for a dunk on the other end. I guess party is over now for Spurs. this line-up will never get over the hump unless an athletic superstar is added. Else be happy with falling short in the finals everytime...

Man..I haven't posted on this site for a while. I just had to come on and say... WTF Ginobli? I hate to say it but that has to be the worst performance I've seen from him ever. And he has had some stinkers this year.

I think most of the blame has to go to Pop for playing him as many minutes as he did yesterday. It was apparent he wasn't going to get any better.

I hope they can right the ship for Game 3. The Spurs need to get back to moving the ball. When they move the ball they play great! Then for some reason they get stagnate... don't pass... and leads vanish. SMH

Definitely the worst Manu performance ever. It was like he was drugged or something... couldn't dribble, couldn't pass. Maybe Miami ed his Gatorade because I just don't understand.

he was good for about a minute. When he first came in and attacked the basket for a layup and when he hit a 3. the rest was F-.
yeah I was like "Super Manu is here baby!" Then the rest happened...

That would be as good a reason as any. His dribbling looked like he dunked his hands in grease then went out to play. His passing was just as bad.

Ginobili's ball handling is failing him with age.. which is to be expected for a 6'6" shooting guard. Pop needs to recognize this and get better ballhandlers in the game with him to relieve some of the pressure he's feeling. Somebody please tell Pop that Neal fails to qualify in this regard.

Manu knows he contributed to the defeat, he has the heart of a lion, he will totally redeem himself tomorrow, at which point I expect this thread to be relegated to a mere footnote

Corey Joseph but for some reason Pop loses faith in his role players. Pop goes by what his gut tells him too much. I wish Pop would use Dejuan Blair instead of Matt Bonner.

Fisher doesn't seem to have trouble handling the ball and he's a couple years older. I understand quickness and endurance but ball handling should not be an issue with age.

Ginobili handled the ball like a greased pig. Shamefully pathetic. I agree. Retire. My favorite player, too. Sad.

However, let us not forget that Duncan couldn't hit the ocean from a rowboat and the only things Parker hit were the defenders (in the legs for three or four turnovers).

This series is over. Miami in five or six. Good run.

Too bad we wasted Leonard's and Green's superhuman efforts.

First of all this loss is more on heat playing great finally than Ginobili, they triggered all the right buttons to derail the Spurs and it worked and Lebron played an amazingly clever game.

Regarding the Spurs, unless I forgot something, that was the worst PO game on Manu's career tbh. Tim sucked major ass this game too in O but also in D. Parker had a very poor game, he is the leader of the team so he is the one to blame if we want to find a scapegoat to loose by 20 points. What I hated from him during this game is that he begun soon to be frustrated by the refs and couldn't get over it during the whole game. This is not what you expect from your leader: you are in Miami game 2 of the finals you have to be prepared to not receive a call every freaking minute because you fell down alone tripping on your own foot. They didn't blow the whistles so stfu, stay focus, stop complaining and play the game.
    Very disappointing performance.

brazil with a truth bomb. I know TP is your boy so I'll be diplomatic, but he had a bad game. Manu's was legendary bad because he looked like an old drunk Italian out there. I noticed ElNono has been quiet so he isn't even able to spin this. But Nono mentioned how everyone stunk, and rewatching it, he's right, particularly with TP. i think we were so amazed after his late game 1 heroics that we didn't realize how things devolved with him in the early 4th quarter. Those Lebron screens on Parker were brutal, and then as per par with Parker, the more frustrated he gets the more he starts forcing .

you are right about Parker getting pissy, which is one of my many complaints. It's why he'll never be a leader like Duncan in my eyes, he gets frustrated too easily out there. But that doesn't mean Parker is average, far from it. He's just got certain weaknesses that need to be addressed and everyone needs to step up big time.

If we're to win this, we will need a Detroit '04 type synergy imho.

I agree with others, this loss is on everyone. Duncan needs to get back to taking better shots and abusing Haslem/Anderson if they are guarding him. Tony and Manu have to take better care of ball and watch errant lazy passes. Neal and Manu need to take better higher percentage shots as well. offense needs to stay in game and pay attention... shot clock violations are uncalled for and show loss of focus. An the defense has to step up on the outside shooters more than trying to double Lebron IMO.

Ok I'm settling this once and for all, it wasn't Manu or the guys, it was all on me.

I deviated from a certain pregame ritual I have done exactly the last three series

    It's all on me.

The Grizzlies were one of the bests at forcing turnovers and we starved them that way. The Mavs had the same problem in '11. If the Spurs are going to have turnovers they can't afford live ball turnovers.

It's not all on him, obviously and his hamstring clearly isn't 100%, but he also just doesn't seem to be as driven as he once was. Duncan and Parker seem determined to get this done and he almost seems content to be here and resigned to losing.

When Parker said before the series that he thought he was saving his best for last, really what he was saying was, he needs more help if they're going to get this done. Clearly, that didn't work. So at least one of Parker, Duncan pr Pop needs to flat out tell him that he needs to start playing with reckless abandon, whether it leads to injury or not, because they're not winning this with the way he's playing right now anyway.

Tp is my boy cauz he receives so much undeserved on this site that I feel I have to take his side most of the time. But I'm not a homer, I root for the Spurs since the twin towers not just a player, I was obviously delighted to see a Frenchie drafted and I'm estonished by his dedication and his desire to progress every single year, u have to respect that. He led the spurs this far now he has to deliver I'm not asking for 20 pts and 7 assists every game but he needs to show the way, fights adversity and takes the hits and the non calls like a leader. He cannot let external stuff pollute his focus.

to be fair, he progressed a lot on that aspect too and it's quite rare now when he has this kind of game. Now for the game 3 he needs to stay in his game, play, forget his last t/o or a missed call and play.
