    Evans
Trades for a young player with potential (Robinson, Williams, even Vesely)
Aminu and MAYBE a backup point.

The team is good enough to win as is. They just need to grow more. As Duncan ages, Splitter and Baynes should get better. As Ginobili and Parker decline, Green and Leonard should take bigger roles. De Colo and Joseph should be better next season as well. The team is in position to use their cap space on the best player available. They don't have any needs that won't be fixed with the minimum. They should just look for talent, potential and value this off-season.

No one is saying Howard sucks...we just have 0 chance of landing him. ...Pop yelled at him in the All Star game for being a moron...you think he wants to come here?
He would not fit in here I think the Spurs have as little interest in him as he does in them..

Not that high on splitter here, but I recognize he has a head start as far as 'fit' goes, and there just isn't that many interesting realistically attainable bigs FAs out there... The thing with him is how much is he gonna be valued by teams...
The Spurs have to find somebody tougher. Splitter is just too soft.. Bring Splitter back and they may lose in the WCF against OKC. They have to find a better option..

Good bigs are locked up. Who is realistically attainable out there out of these tough bigs? I mean, I'm all for a S&T for Tyson Chandler, but I don't think NY is interested.

I don't get why people would want Al Jefferson. He's coming off last season where he made 15 million so I can't see him taking much less than 10 mil. His defense makes Tiago Splitter look like Bill Russell. His plus/minus number for the year is so low (-8.2) that I can't find another significant player on a winning team that even comes close. Of all the bigs on Utah last year-- Enes Kanter, Millsap, Favors, DeMarre Carroll, Marvin Williams, and Jefferson-- Jefferson's +/- is the worst, and it's not even close. No team he has played significant minutes on has ever won more than 43 games in a season. Why would you want him?

    1. Milsap
    2. David West
    3. Monta Ellis (yes, he's a volume shooter, but he's a better option than Ginobili at this point. He's athletic as , an create his own shot, get to the rim, hit the 3, and create assists) He averaged 19pts, 6 asts, 4 rebounds last year on 41% shooting (the negative), but he's 27 and would FLOURISH as a 2nd or 3rd option on this team.

We have 3 main needs the backup pg is need number oneI like Jarrett jack but a few other options are
    C.j. watson
    Beno
    Harris
Oj mayo (more combo gaurd and maybe out of our checkbooks reach but could be worth the cost )
A combo forward would be next
Ak47 is a fine choice if we can afford him
    Martell webster
    Wesley johnson
    Nick young
And im not sure about splitter so looking for the banging big to soak up some minutes for duncan
Jason smith(ok not a banger but can play both 4 and 5)
    Aldrich
    Mullens

Im a blair fan but I dont see him as a fit neal has to go bonner needs to be amnesty and manu better take less money splitter not worth what others will pay.
Of course id go nuts to get al jeff or josh smith but the spurs FO hasnt changed there ways guys. I dont see much change in our roster but one can hope.

LMAO. That's what I say to myself. If you mention DH12 the reply is "no thanks, we don't need him." If you mention Jarrett Jack the reply is "no thanks, he sucks." If you mention Al Jefferson the reply is "I don't want him he suc*s on defense." Most of these replies come from the Manu worshippers and Popsuckers.

With a different role manu can be very valuable. I can see pop giving manu an ultimatum; less money, lesser role.

As for splitter, name one better fit that is realistically attainable and meets the criteria of a spur. He's not a threat at this point to a heat or thunder team but we still have to go through big teams like the Lakers, grizzlies, and clippers, maybe even the pacers and he is very valuable there. If he works on his game a little bit namely passing out of the pick n roll, and power dribbles off the catch he could be more effective. But as in mobile competent centers that fit our system, It's slim Pickens. Plus he has 3 years experience within the system. That knowledge at this point is invaluable.

The spurs didn't lose because pop or manu. We were one combo guard away from a championship imo

I agree that kawhi needs to be the third option next year and that he's earned it. As for the bench a new sixth man is what we need imo so I rate tyreke Evans first cause he's young and could be a future building block with Leonard, and then jack as a win now.

I see manu as a fifth option. At that level we would be really deep.

You really think Splitter is going to get any better? He had age 18-25 to get better. He is at his peak right now. As for Baynes you guys think he's going to develop into a Dwight Howard or something. In reality he is just a DJ Mbenga type of player. He is also in his peak years at 26.

    Spurs depth:

    PG TP, CJ, Patty
    SG Green, Manu, Neal*, Nando
    SF Kawhi, TMAC*
    PF Timmy, Diaw, Bonner*, Blair*
    C Splitter*, Baynes,

    * represents player that might be gone next season

The bigger question is what free agents should/could replace those with a *
