Weidman is basically a younger, faster, and stronger Sonnen, with a much better striking game. And Sonnen gave Silva problems like nobody else has been able to. It would not surprise me at all if Weidman walks away with the belt.
I might actually have to put some money on this fight...
I agree with this, although the layoff and injury are of some concern. Maybe it's just because I want Silva to lose so badly... After watching Weidman man-handle Munoz, as well as seeing his speed and power, I think Silva might have more on his plate than he thinks. I'd guess the betting odds will reflect this as well. Silva will be 4:1 I bet.
GSP seems to agree...
http://www.mmafighting.com/2013/3/11...wont-just-beat"I believe [Weidman] is going to beat Anderson Silva," St-Pierre declared to Canada's Sportsnet. "I believe it's a bad matchup for Anderson Silva. It's very bad.
"Not only is he going to beat, I believe he is going to finish Anderson Silva. I believe it's not going to be too long, that fight. This, people will be shocked."
check out the official poster
Notice anything similar to the fan made one in first poster, lol

- Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman - This is an easy pick.
- Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Dave Herman - Herman sucks wang and gets cut after this ass kicking.
- Tim Boetsch vs. Mark Munoz - This one is too.
- Frankie Edgar vs. Charles Oliveira - Not as easy as this one.
- Dennis Siver vs. Cub Swanson - This one sucked. I want Siver, so bad, but Cub is just too strong and fast.
EDITED to reflect Zombie not fighting.

in Silva again, and tbh he is not doing any promo whatsoever. To do a clip with him they just merging his old texts
I truly believe that Weidman is going to beat him. He has Chael's game, but with twice the power and speed. Silva better not take this one lightly, or he's going to get embarrassed.
I agree but I do not love Weidman's style for Silva. Watching his fights he seems to wait and hang back. What made Sonnen so successful was going forward all the time forcing Silva to fight. If Weidman thinks he can hang back and pick and choose his spots for TD's he is going to get KO'd. He has to be on Silva from bell to bell..

1:05...opportunistic female recognizes the proper moment to get a hand on Weidman's ass.
She's a little heavy but not too bad.. Maybe she got his digits..
Before and after shots of Munoz. Pretty impressive.

LOL Those kind of weight fluctuations are not exactly a good idea for a fighter in his mid 30's..

- While I would like Weidman to win and he has wrestling skills to do so, he still likes to strike, and you can't strike with probably the best.
the picks against silva are overwhelming
