*****UPDATE*****
Everyone breathe a deep sigh of relief.
first year tiago starts, spurs go to the finals and nearly won it (took a miracle game 6 for miami).. you people need to chill out.
Yup. I should have said when hes paird with duncan.
Tiago has progressively gotten better each season as his confidence has risen. I expect him to continue the trend next season, and hopefully keep it rolling in the post season. I like the deal, and I like the amount of money we have left to hopefully secure that one solid addition (Kirilenko).

Prove me wrong Tiago, prove me wrong.
I think FO was trying to get David West but since he re-signed with the Pacers, they have no choice but to offer a deal with Tiago. Not bad, especially 4/36 deal.
If we can just develop our other PGs, we can just focus on getting AK47. 2014-2015 will be a better season for us!
I'd actually prefer it to be front-loaded if it's fully guaranteed. So long as the team times its signings well, it wouldn't affect the cap negatively this season.
Think of what the market for big men with some skills is today---and what it will be five years from now.
Meantime, a contract at that figure for that long is probably bankable for a possible trade in case one of the miracle trades that many folks float on this website ever becomes more than their private fantasy.
Does this still provide hope for a sign and trade with Phoenix?
I like 4 years a lot more than 5. Hopefully he plays around 30 mins a game.
I'll take it. I'd prefer three years but four years is fine.
The might seem high but that's how much starting quality bigmen cost these days.
Good news![]()
No. Splitter for Gortat is dead. Diaw+filler for Gortat is still possible, but by keeping Splitter there doesn't seem to be much sense in continuing to pursue Gortat.
Please. David West wasnt leaving Indiana and everyone knew it...
just hit the damn weightroom!
any chance this might be a sign and trade?
I felt bad for Duncan that he had to put up with mentally weak Pop and soft Euro second options. Now I feel bad for Leonard. Going to waste his prime playing next to an overpaid, soft Euro big that finishes like a goddamn point guard.
id be happy if he could develop a more fluid jump hook. A jumper would be great!
You sound just like the some people on here after the RJ extension.
Welcome back, Tiago.
Glad he's returning and hope we see continued improvement from him.
Re-sign Manu and get a solid backup 3/4.
If more key pieces were younger, I'd agree with that.
But I'd rather take a lower hit initially with the yearly increases, then let the bigger totals hit when the team is taking a year or two (realistically more) to rebuild around Kawhi anyways.
The modern DAY NBA for you, weak Centers all around in this league. You get a average to good one you have to overpay.
