In couldn't care less what he makes.

Just frustrated they invested a huge part of their cap on a player who exhibited one of the worst performances in Finals history for the Spurs 5 trips.

I will say this: no way he lives this contract in a Spurs uni. He'll be traded after year 2.

Really pissed in these last 2 weeks.

Now re-sign Manu and go all out for AK47. We won't get the shot creator that we need but hopefully Splitter improves and Kirilenko would step up and have a good year.

That is not necessarily true. The Spurs with this contract, 7.8mil guaranteed in first year I believe, Spurs are sitting at 45mil against the cap now (remember 4.8mil qualifying offer was counted against the cap). Let's say Manu signs a 2 year 10mil a year deal. The Spurs will have 8mil in cap space to sign AK47. Spurs could go the route of a sign and trade as well for a wing player like Ellis, Evans or Mayo or sign a player like Mayo outright and throw a 4 year Midlevel deal at AK. They could also just amnesty Bonner as well to make room for a signing.

Spurs still have options at this point.

Spurs still have alot of options. But signing Ginobili to a favorable contract should be the next order of business for them b/c of his caphold.

Can one of the cap guru tell me how does this affect Kawhi? He's on his third year, and I believe he will be due an extension soon
It doesn't at all. At all, at all. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I honestly dont think I have ever seen a NBA big get blocked as much as Splitter does.
splitter was #16 in shots blocked against this year with 78. one more than al jefferson and peckvic.
in comparison, duncan was blocked 73 times.

randolph, asik, and hibbert are some bigger named bigs with more shots blocked against this last year.

Pop just has to play him and have confidence in him now
cant yank him for a slight mistake or perceived mistake that isnt actually a mistake but Pop just needing someone to take his anger issues out on ala Splitter not doubling Durant in the 2012 WCF

heopfully we see more post plays and let him expand his game outside of the pick and roll
still wont get the respect from the refs though probably which will hurt him since guards are allowed to hold his arms down
in 2011 he had one of the best free throw rates in the nba

I'd rather have Jarrett Jack than AK47. What was our major malfunction in that Heat series? We didn't have anyone besides Tony who could handle the ball or create off the dribble. Why do you think Neal had to play so much in that series? Unless you think Manu is going to have a resurgence next year, our most pressing need is a playmaker, not AK47.

The Spurs were sitting on his $7.5 Million cap hold, not his QO. So this only affects their cap by $600k (his starting salary can't be lower than $8.1 Million) to $1.5 Million (the highest his salary can be is $9.9 Million). And now that Splitter's guaranteed to be here, the team no longer has the means to do a S&T for anyone worth while and sign Kirilenko. It'd be either/or now.

Overpaid for his pussy basketball. And lol @ trying to bring back Neal and the whole 12/13 team. Surprised Blair is not getting paid by the Spurs. I guess they think we're getting younger and Tim can play like this for 5 more years. They had 20 ing millions and they gonna bring back Splitter, Manu, Neal and Bonner. Well that's just amazing right there.

Guys!! I'm confused so bear with me. My questions are:
    1. Is the contract offer a 36m/4yrs or 45/5yrs?
    2. With the Spurs having placed an offer to Splitter, can other teams still place a bet or will he be a lock in our roster next season? Because I just read in some news that both parties have agreed on terms?

    Thanks!

On thing to keep in mind: Woj's reported salaries always seem to be high with regards to the Spurs. While he's saying "$36M+" for Splitter now, that could end up being closer to $30M.

Remember, last year Woj said Duncan got $36M over three years but we eventually found out TD got $30 over three years.

Spurs do not sweep the Grizz and might not even beat them without Splitter. Splitter and Diaw were great. The team that took them to the 2013 finals and was 30 seconds away from number 5 is almost back in its entirety. Go Spurs Go!

I any case, if Manu signs for 5mil, the Spurs will have 8mil in cap space to sign a player. They could still amnesty Bonner have close to 12mil to sign someone like Ellis outright and then use the MLE on AK47, like some mention a 4 year 22mil deal.

Spurs still can get a play maker and a small ball SF/PF in AK47 or Korver. This would be a great offseason if the Spurs could pull this off.
