How many time do I have to repeat myself? Definitino of a homer - Someone who shows blind loyalty to a team or organization, typically ignoring any shortcomings or faults they have.

It's a legacy contract. It's a huge waste of money in terms of trying to contend, but it's not about that. It's about keeping Manu from wearing a different NBA jersey. Should he have retired? Yes, but I see where the organization is coming from.

However, the thought behind the contract doesn't mean the contract makes any sense. He should have played for 3 million per year to help the team out. , he's not even going to play 50 games.

Again, I see what the franchise was trying to do and understand that the organization is just showing love to one of its legends, but he has really ing hamstrung us. He's killed us.

This next year will be a waste with everyone just going through the motions and praying for all the big name super-stars to get injured again.

Manu should have recognized his time and retired like a boss, but he's going to hang on pathetically instead.

We should have just made him a coach.

It's funny. One more bounce of the ball our way and nobody is saying . If we had #5 the same people badmouthing Pop/Manu would be sucking their s relentlessly, even after the horrible game 6 Manu had. Like literally it was that close and the line is that thin betwen fellatio and "i want em off the team!" These same "fans" probably didn't even expect us to make it out of the second round, tbh. If you look at the join dates most bandwagoned after the GS series.

It would be different if last year's run wasn't completely unexpected and Manu/Pop hadn't already delivered multiple les, but they have. So it's kinda time to let it go and quit being a sore loser.

After the way this team looked in 2011 I'm still incredibly impressed and amazed that we made it back.
Everyone was amazed at last year even, the bounceback from a round one exit to a 20 game win streak and WCF! I thought that was as good as it gets, their ceiling at that age! THEN they get into the finals again! I was like this is not supposed to happen after 07 lol! They shocked us all, then almost had it. What a weird year to say the least, dissapointing ending but who expected them to win it? NOT ME and not you! None of us. They got there though, still wonder how they did it.

Sad but most of that is true, legacy contract and they felt obligated, but this handicaps us on winning another le so I felt some kind of way about them just throwing contracts around at this point. Now we are left with nothing, thats what upsets me. Even Argies thought it was a high contract, sucks.

Over the last 10 years what exactly has the front office done to improve the team involving trades and free agency? Look at the spurs roster, full of their draft picks and no players acquired via free agency or trades. Front offices that can reload quickly with smart trades and free agency will pass by the slow poke spurs who only add players with their draft picks.

When you only use the draft to improve the team the future looks bleak after Duncan with the current front office.

Yes, because teams that know how to improve using the draft have no hope whatsoever when they start getting high draft picks.

Shut the up. I wanted Manu off the team after the 2007 le. That was the year the spurs should have traded him.

The one big name we signed threw us out of contention and wasted 3 years of our time. We got Leonard, Splitter, Joseph in the draft. You are not a smart person.

Spurs got lucky with easy matchups. Injuries weakened the west this year and the spurs were lucky to come in the playoffs with a healthy team.

Not to mention we drafted Hill who was flipped for Leonard. Pretty forgetful poster tbh, might be senile or have some condition like Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates, tragically.

I think the real tragedy here is that i watched 50 First Dates though.

is that because of FAs not wanting to come to SA or the organization is too tied to our big 3?

There are 3 ways to improve the roster. The spurs only use one of those ways. A good front office uses all 3 ways.

The organization is married to the so called big 3 and tied up to doing nothing. The spurs take the conservative approach and watch good players move every year from team to team. Bottom line the spurs have still not won a le since 2007 with this same core. Manu should have been moved years ago. No way should they have signed Splitter. They should have went hard after Aldridge and get Duncan some real frontline help.

The spurs re-sign and hoard their draft picks, even throwing bad contracts to keep their players if that is what it takes. This takes them out of the free agent running year after year. It is the conservative approach.

I thought there was no shot at all after last year, NONE! That was as good as it got IMO and the stars nearly aligned for us to get to the finals. Shortened year and health! CHECK! Easy first two rounds after sweeps! CHECK! THen...... Damn. That was it IMO, our last run.

IS this offseason though dissapointing so far? YES. I thought with some help at the backup PG position or 3 they would improve. We desperately needed a guy to run the PG when Tony sat down which was a problem, so far nothing showing there and they are about out of money now. Lets see if they can add some SPURS type minor pieces now, forget BIG names because that is out or SPurs are interested in headlines, lets see what they have in mind to make the team a little better going into next year first.

    You forgot a couple:

    1. Diamonds in the rough: finding Stephen Jacksons, Bruce Bowens, Danny Greens, and Gary Neals among the league's castoffs and wannabes. Spurs' record here speaks for itself.

    2. Player development -- taking the players you have and making them better. Spurs are the best in the league at this.

You've been saying the same for years

where are those Front offices? what have they won? Outside of LA and Miami, you only have one hit wonders...

teams have gone over 5 rebuilds or more since this FO took over, and they still can't win .

he's gonna tell you how the Lakers do it... like FA's are just as likely to come here as they are to go to LA
