They don't seem to have cap space to sign Iggy outright. Best-case scenario, they have $10.5 Million in cap space. And that's before they lost another $1.5 Million to roster charges. Unless the deal is a lot smaller than I saw it to be, I don't think it will fit.
Looking at Sham's numbers, I think they do.

That's what I was looking at. I put them at $48 Million with nine players. Did Rush opt out?

(Clippers, Grizzlies, Warriors, Timberwolves, Pacers), he'd be an awkward fit.
Clips have 2 legit bigs on their roster.
We just showed that Status Quo with Duncan/Splitter/Diaw can handle Memphis' front line.
GSW plays a ton of small ball.
Pacers don't have much past Hibbert/West. They gave Miami issues - but that's still just a 49 win team that would have gotten rolled by Spurs in 5 or 6 if they had made Finals.
    T-Pups are a major threat???????

And Millsap would be an excellent fit against the Heat too... because he would punish them for playing small
Why would a 6'7 guy who offers no rim deterrent, a mediocre rebounder*, and does the majority of his scoring via jumper somebody who "punishes" teams for going small?

That said, I'd gladly take Millsap into the rotation for the right price. But not at the expense of Kirilenko if we have had that choice (and I have no idea if we do).

    * Check it, at this stage in their careers - Splitter has a higher rebounding rate.

Why are they renouncing him? They should still be over the cap (especially if they want to be), so they're probably just going to trade with Denver. If that's the case, they can re-sign Jack and Landry and remain below the tax.
    From David Aldridge:

Trying to juggle a dozen things, but as others have reported, this is huge: GSW renounced rights to Jarrett Jack to do Utah deal.

Wow. What the , Utah? I guess that's what I get for skipping one whole page in this 1,700-post thread .

Oh, then yes they do, provided they didn't have to take anyone back. That's a strange move for them, though. As their bench is even worse now than it was last year.

Thanks, guys. I saw the Iggy signing and then just skipped to the last page. Missed out on some crucial details.

Howard going to HOU is probably a good scenario for Spurs. It does move another mid-level team to upper echelon, but it probably doesn't upset the balance of power at the top.

Meanwhile, takes one of the open capped teams (mostly) out of play for what's left out there.

    * Check it, at this stage in their careers - Splitter has a higher rebounding rate.
    - They could maybe get away with him on Jordan, but, limited as he is offensively, that would still be a tough match-up for him and block out and it would mean Duncan would have to guard Griffin.
    - Right, but can Kirilenko?
    - Same situation as the Clippers (just replace Jordan with Bogut)
    - But they do have Hibbert/West and they play a lot more minutes in the playoffs
    - No, but can he guard Love or Pekovic and block out either?

He's a mediocre rebounder in general, but against a team that plays as small as the Heat, he'd have a field day. West is a sub par rebounder and is thought of as more of a face up PF than low post one, yet he destroyed them on the glass and in the post. I see no reason why Millsap, a similar player, couldn't do the same . . . and if I'm not mistaken, he has since the big three formed.
