oden needs to be in training camp imo if he wants to see the floor
also oden would help spurs limit duncan minutes
Not to mention playing alongside Timmy D.

It's crazy that no one wants to come here and be the "missing piece" to the champ puzzle for us. We don't need a huge boost but if we won, they'd be seen as a hero and command a higher salary on their next go-round. Yeah, I know Beli says Hi but I mean in general.
It's not rocket science.
Maybe Timmy can entice Oden to sign with Spurs by giving Oden one of his "Punisher" type knee braces.
Unless they've been here before, SA isn't a high profile destination. Few know how good we have it here and I for one like it that way. Oden needs to realize that there are no income taxes in Texas and that Pop will take care of him and extend his career. Dallas and Miami will work him to death.
Especially this...Miami struggles with bigger teams, Spo will play him 30+ mins a game at least.
Like I said, I think DeShaun will have alot of clot if Oden wants to sign with the Spurs are not. Oden knows the Spurs aren't going to wear him thin and will give him time to develop. Plus the Spurs trainer are the best in the League w/ only the Suns being better IMO. He can learn under Tim, his idol and he can have Thomas, one of his best friends on the team as well.
It would be the perfect scenario for him.
Thomas is one of his best friends??? Where did you find this out, can you elaborate on this?
There was an article that came out about two months ago how Thomas was saying how great Oden looked and how they have been working out together for awhile now. There was also an interview where he talks how he and Oden have become close over the past year and he feels like Oden will be making a comeback to the NBA.
Oden has been attending OSU to finish his degree the past couple of years if you didn't know that.
If he is smart enough to go back to school and finish his degree then that says a lot about his character and his intelligence.
He should definitely choose the Spurs then.
the lifestyle in miami would not be conducive to the continuing growth of oden as a player and a person. the fact that SA is on his list is telling in of itself. not sure why bruno regards miami as the "clear favorite".
Because they are by far the safest bet to get a ring...
Oden's got a better chance of being on the team than Thomas does next year. I dont' see an Oden-Thomas relationship making much of a difference here.
Hope you're right because I wouldn't bet on Thomas making the team.
You may be right, but at this point in his career I'd think that Oden would be more worried about getting a decent chance to showcase his talents and secure a lucrative contract than he would about winning a ring. I'm not saying that he isn't seeking a chance to play for a ring - because obviously Miami and San Antonio are one and two on his list, but let's not forget that Cleveland, Boston, and Charlotte (who are obviously not Championship contenders) are on his short list after the two teams that met in the Finals. With that being said, if he can get quality minutes en route to winning/competing for a le, then he would be foolish not to take that option.
The other thing is that Miami is a huge media market and I don't see him wanting all that attention if he doesn't know if he can make it. He seems to be a soft spoken guy and not a media like Lebron and Kobe..so I would think our little town would be more to his liking.
Most of us, who lived in other places, but were raised here, call San Antonio "a big city with a small town atmosphere". We are actually the 7th or 6th largest city in the USA!
a guy on the cheap that has looked good in the summer has been tyler honeycutt. he is a 6'8" guy with lots of length. rebounded well in the orlando league too. he was on the rockets team but is not under contract.

Probably, but that's not the best situation. Huge spotlight. If he fails, he'll be called out for it in Miami. And there are no bigs to mentor. Also, Miami runs their players into the ground. So even if he gets to play with Lebron, his overall development and health are a lot riskier in Miami.
GRRRRRRRRRRRR get him! Man we don't need the log jam at guards.
There has been FAR worse! 07 sucked! I thought Scola was over here and on our team then he is gone and Bonner is back! Think of that. WE actually added a nice piece too in Belli, Pendergraph is a project but he is athletic and has a nice 15 footer. It is not a horrible offseason like you think because we wiffed on one guy.
If you look back at it now, we never wiffed on anyone, AK was never really going to come here, it was all a Russian ruse.
Knicks aren't an option for Neal. They can only offer him a $1.3M salary and they can't get him through S&T because they are above the apron.
You are correct, the 100 pages even after they said deal was off and Spurs were out basically said what most of us knew. Spurs did what they could with what they had.
