Zimmerman juror gets book agent

One of the six anonymous jurors who acquitted George Zimmerman of second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin has signed with a literary agent to write a book about the case less than 48 hours after the verdict.
The woman, known only as Juror B37 under court order, will enlist her husband, an attorney who works in the aerospace industry, as her co-author, agent Sharlene Martin said in a statement Monday.
“My hope is that people will read Juror B37’s book … and understand the commitment it takes to serve and be sequestered on a jury in a highly publicized murder trial and how important, despite one’s personal viewpoints, it is to follow the letter of the law,” Martin said.
“It could open a whole new dialogue about laws that may need to be revised and revamped to suit a 21st century way of life,” she added. “The reader will also learn why the jurors had no option but to find Zimmerman not guilty due to the manner in which he was charged and the content of the jury instructions.”
The jurors, who were sequestered during the trial, deliberated about 16 hours before finding Zimmerman not guilty. He said he fired his 9mm pistol in self-defense after Martin, who did not have a gun, attacked him on Feb. 26, 2012 in Sanford, Fla.
The verdict has already sparked several large rallies and marches and there are plans for a 100-city vigil next weekend. The agent said the juror has not decided whether to reveal her iden y “given the sensitivity of the verdict and the outpouring of mixed reactions by the American public.”
The woman has lived in the Sanford, Fla., area for 18 years and has two daughters – a 24-year-old pet groomer and a 27-year-old college student. During jury selection, she said she had been called for jury duty four times previously but never selected to sit on a case.
Martin has represented other authors involved in big trials, including the O.J. Simpson, Amanda Knox and Jodi Arias cases.

Why didn't Trayvon borrow someone's car or get one of his buddies to go with him to the store? I live in rural Collin County and I'm an evil whitey but I'm not going to walk to a store in public at night. That's just dangerous. Where I live, you are more likely to get hit by a car than get shot. Not worth it if you ask me.

Tell me, how much common sense do you have to have to see what you THINK could be a dangerous person and actively follow them around with a gun? That does not sound like responsible behavior to me.
It's not a legal thing. People get that there wasn't enough to convict. But morally, this thing doesn't pass the smell test at all and just feels completely wrong.
Agreed, but the other side sort of does too. How many people get followed by a "creep ass craka" and circle back to fight? Or even more, who has a cell phone in a dangerous situation and does not call the cops? Why would you not call the cops there? Is there a reason you didn't want the cops around? Did you not think of it? That does not make any sense either.

Juror B37, who asked to remain her anonymity, said she did not find the prosecution’s witnesses to be credible and that race did not play a role in the jury’s decision.
However, she also acknowledged her belief that Zimmerman went "above and beyond" in his decision to ignore police direction by confronting Trayvon Martin.
Appearing on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” she said neither she nor any of the other jurors discussed race when reviewing the case.
“I don’t think it did. If there was another person, Spanish, white, Asian; if they came in the same situation as Trayvon did, I think George would have reacted the same way,” she said.
“I think all of us thought race did not play a role. We never had that discussion. I think he just profiled him because he was the neighborhood watch and he profiled anyone that was acting strange.”
