Coach Pop brought this on himself when he benched Timmy. He'll be tossing&turning for the rest of his days.
I still don't get how you give up the 3 when up 5.

Give up the 2, but never ever give up the 3.
He put in what he thought was his best 3pt defense and then gave up 2 3's. How hard would it have been to put TD in and overplay the 3 to force them to take 2's?

not surprising that even Pop is in bigtime mess, that even the great and tough Popovich fall... every one that connect to Spurs is in bigtime trauma, this thing that happened to us is a disappointment that nothing in history isn't coming close to, it's indeed the worst thing that can happened to someone life, it's an unrecovring situation, it's to live the rest of your life being trapped in the worst nightmare without ability to come out of it... don't try to fool yourself and flip it, we are damned, Spurs franchise is done, could not being able to come back from this...
Can you please not generalize for all Spurs fans? It was the most devastating sports moment for me, and it's been on my mind since game 6's disastrous ending. But unrecoverable? Everyone connected to the Spurs is in bigtime trauma? It's like mourning??? And it hurts more with time????? Stop generalizing for everyone because none of these things are true for me. Yeah I'm upset, but I don't mope about it and this is not even close to as painful as real world ty stuff. And this is coming from a guy who cried after game 7 for the first time over a sport since I was 10 in 1995.

As for Pop...I'm sure he's devastated. If thats a true quote, I'm surprised he's taking game 7 that hard. Game 6 (as everyone has mentioned) is the epitomy of sports heartbreak at its cruelest.

I'd much rather have Ray Allen make the extremely difficult shot that he made than put him on the free throw line for three attempts, where he's a 90% shooter. As bad as the end of the game was, it would have been that much worse if it'd been decided by a foul

I hope so. What he did is completely unforgiveable.

Seriously. Both times down the court they allowed LeBron to get off that initial 3 without even a hand in his face.

That drives me far crazier than what Ray Allen did.

I understand LeBron was shooting poorly from outside but come on man, let them get the easy layup instead of his 3 and that could have been all the difference.

The worst part about that last rebound is that Ray just trots back and nobody even looks at him. God ingdammit.

Let me know when Doc would sit Garnett in a Finals game 6 with a 5 point lead and 28 seconds to go.

People on here say we shut up about the Finals but why should we? If the Spurs don't win another ring, this one is going to continue to hurt for a long long long long long time.

I do believe another ring would soften the blow.

This. The Spurs took away nothing. The super 3pt defending lineup he had in the game gave up good looks and couldn't rebound. I wonder what the +/- for it was during the season.

Yep that is riduculous there, you give the the two but not wide open threes two times in a row. So much went wrong that sequence I don't even want to go over it again as it will just drive you nuts.

Yeah that will be our last memory of them in the finals tbh! You are right there. If they won another one I would be good, forget about this one and say cool you win some you lose some. I don't now if they will even make it back, thats what makes it even scarier knowing they could have blown their last shot and I know every fan positive or negative thinks about that.

TRUE! If they just made one of those two they miss the Spurs are celebrating. I give Leonard a pass for being 21 and the moment and he stepped up and shot a nice ball that just rimmed out, he was not scared though and looked confident for someone his age on that stage. Old Manu makes that FT though, he used to be automatic in games with the Ft's at the end and I knew we had it, sadly this year even that part of his game was not there at times. I used to want him with the ball late.

I was reading his post then I realized it was this emo guy again acting like all of our lives are over now because of basketball game. this was my worst loss as a SPORTS fan no doubt, I won't deny that! I have never been as dissapointed in a loss, but it will not end all of our lives and we will not mourn forever over it. I hope he doesn't as well, the way he talks in here his life is over now and nothing good will happen again lol! Good post there.

That whole series we were giving up rebound after rebound. Especially all throughout game 6. Obviously it's what killed us in the end. Failing to box out literally cost us a le.

Wasn't Riley that always said "no rebounds, no rings"? Looks like he got the last laugh, so props to him. I'd rather give him credit than his puppet coach.

I haven't even spoken about it, until now.

What pisses me off more than anything, is that Timmy blames himself for missing that gimme in 7 to tie. He's putting it on him.

    that.

Timmy's throwing in the ball, press row having to be restrained from coming onto the court, go 2-for-2 from the line? Church. Game-set-match.

But I'm more pissed at Manu for missing his free-throw than KY. (And what the happened to Manu's free-throw shooting this year?!?) For all that he came up short, he makes his free-throws... and it's all forgotten.

And Pop... he could have bailed them all out. No way they get those second-chance opportunities with Tim on the court. To this day, the only reason I believe LeBron made that 3, was the fact that he wanted nothing to do with the first one and had to shoot the second one. No conscience on the second one, it was without thought - no potential to pass, no time to hesitate... just shoot the shot.

The pressure was in the first shot. There's no second if Pop just puts his best players on the court - something he's alluded to doing with regards to starting Manu in the playoffs.

Tim deserved better. I still can't believe how good he was this year, how healthy he was . . .

The stars aligned for him - and Pop eclipsed his ass.

Dude all of Spurs nation was doing the same thing. was ing over. As a Heat fan friend of mine said after the game on Facebook, "someone on the Heat sold their soul for that win. The Spurs are toast now." I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that we handed the le to the Heat. It's like a nightmare I can't wake up from.
