I should add that it's not watchable for me

Quality is just too far off from the elite leagues around the world, plus I don't have a home team to cheer for.

But I definitely believe it (MLS) will get there. You'll know things are turning when the MLS can keep American talent here, and it stops resembling a schoolyard game of kickball

...and the aforementioned development of the youth system, tbh
I would've agreed with your opinion 7 years ago but MLS has made huge strides in the quality of play over the past half-decade. I'm not going to say that the quality of play today is equal to the elite leagues around the world, but the gap is closing fast. This isn't really a homer opinion but RSL's style and quality of play for me is on par with what you'd see out of the European leagues, minus the physicality. Yes there are several teams that I still can't watch like Toronto, unless RSL is playing them, that play the kickball style, but it's becoming the exception now instead of the norm.

And by no means am I saying that RSL is on a level playing field with the elite clubs, just their style of play. I'm not that blind a homer.

What's funny? I'm not saying the quality of play is closing fast. I'm saying the style of play is closing fast. Quality was probably the wrong word for me to use, although if you don't think the quality of play in the MLS has improved greatly over the past 5-7 years then you're a dumbass.

Miedfielder, right legged, started in Newell's, went to Europe (Almeria) and came back to Argentina to play in Colon. He played one game with the national team made with players from the Argie league. He's a mixed midfielder (attacks and defends) but he's more of a technician than a banger. Can hit free kicks appropriately.

LA kicked the crap out of RSL this weekend. I really enojoyed that. Only 4 points out of the Supporters Shield spot and have barely had the team together all season.

    If only they'd kept Magee

Everything you need to know about the Seattle-Portland rivalry laid out nicely in alphabetical order.

A: All In - Not only did the Emerald City Supporters nail their tifo display in last season's 3-0 win over the Timbers in October with the catchphrase "All In," but it can be said that those two words accurately sum up the rivalry. Both sides, 90 minutes, all they have to give. It's what makes Seattle-Portland the best feud in MLS.
B: Brougham End - Speaking of ECS, they like to reside in what we all lovingly know to be the Brougham End at CenturyLink Field. A raucous sea of green and blue never stops singing, never stops moving. Can't be beat.
C: Cascadia Cup - This is what it's all about. The three teams in the Pacific Northwest battling it out year after year for the kind of bragging rights that can only come in silver form. Currently held by the Timbers.
D: Dempsey, Clint - You all know him as the captain of the USMNT and the Sounders newest Designated Player. He'll make his home debut on the biggest of stages against the most hated of rivals on Sunday. Doesn't get much better than that.
E: ESPN 2 - The match will be televised on ESPN2 for the entire country to see the unbeatable atmosphere at CenturyLink Field between the two great adversaries. Kickoff set for 7 p.m. PT
F: Fredy Montero - The Colombian forward, now playing with Sporting CP in Portugal, scored his fair share of impressive goals against the Timbers, including a quite memorable effort in 2012.
G: Gavin Wilkinson - A long-time member of the Timbers organization, and now it's Technical Director, Wilkinson has faced off against the Sounders on numerous occasions both on and off the pitch, whether it's in matches or in the front office.
H: Hanauer, Adrian - Like Wilkinson in the Rose City, Adrian Hanauer has been an integral part of the Sounders development over the years. A part owner of the team, Hanauer remains extremely invested in all of the Sounders' decisions.
I: I-5 - 174 miles of concrete separate the two great cities…all on I-5. It takes roughly three hours to get up and down the highway, and depending on how the traveling team fared, it can be awfully long journey.
J: Johnsons, Eddie, Ryan And Will - All three players (Eddie for Seattle, Ryan and Will for Portland) will likely be key contributors in Sunday's match and will have to be keyed on by the opposing team. Eddie in particular performs well against Portland having scored three goals in four matches against the Sounders' friends from the south.
K: Kasey Keller - A standout performer at both club and national levels throughout his career, the shot-stopper retired a Seattle Sounder and was a vital part of three consecutive playoff and U.S. Open Cup winning teams. He is PNW soccer.
L: Loud – Yeah, it's going to get loud on Sunday as over 66+ screaming supporters (1,500 of which will be from the Timbers Army) will fill CenturyLink Field raining down chant after chant on the 22 guys battling it out on the pitch. Will certainly be one of the most thunderous Sounders matches ever.
M: March To The Match – For every home fixture on the Sounders schedule, the Emerald City Supporters march from Occidental Park to the stadium, singing the entire way. Sunday's match will be no different. With a larger-than-normal crowd expected, free t-shirts and Seattle's own Crème Tangerine to get the crowd going with a solid selection of cover hits, this week's march should not be missed.
N: NASL - If you look back to the origins of the Sounders-Timbers rivalry, you'll find yourself taking in some NASL soccer as that was the league that first brought the two squads together back in the 70s. Both teams have come quite far since those days.
O: Open Cup - The Sounders beat the Timbers on the way to two of their three U.S. Open Cup les (2009, 2010) and has three les total, to Portland's zero.
P: Porter, Caleb - Joining the Timbers in August of last year, Porter has gone on to lead the club to a successful season so far in 2013. Taking much from an outstanding six-year run with Akron University from 2006-2012, Porter is seen as one of the league's brightest young coaches.
Q: Quickest Goal - 48 seconds. That's all it took for then Sounders forward Roger Levesque to open the scoring in the club's U.S. Open Cup third round victory in 2009. The celebration? Well, you know what happened there.
R: Roger Levesque - Speak of the devil. The long-time Seattle striker became famous around the PNW for his hard work, goal-scoring, and his ability to knock them in past the Timbers throughout the different stages of his career in the Emerald City.
S: Sigi Schmid - Since joining MLS, the Sounders have had but one head coach - Sigi Schmid. He's led the club to three U.S. Open Cup les and has drawn the ire of Timbers fans everywhere for his unwavering devotion to the Seattle franchise.
T: Timbers Army - ECS to the Sounders is what the Timbers Army is to Portland. Equally impressive in their deep shade of green, the supporters group led by Timber Joey continue to show the passion the United States has for soccer.
U: USL - Following the days of NASL came the USL, the league that eventually bore both the Sounders FC and Timbers FC that we now know in Major League Soccer.
V: Valeri, Diego - Taking MLS by storm in his first season with the Timbers, the 27-year-old Valeri has been the playmaking force that Portland has needed and has helped take the club's attack to the next level.
W: Wallace, Rodney - He scored at the death in the clubs' meeting earlier this year to tie the score at 1-1. He also scored the Timbers last goal against Seattle in the second match of 2012.
X: Xbox Pitch - That's where the madness will go down on Sunday evening. 22 men. One goal.
Y: Youth Academies - The Sounders and Timbers don't agree on much. One thing they do agree on though is the development of youth talent through the academy system. The rivalry now goes all the way to the U-16 level.
Z: Zach Scott - He's been a Sounder for over a decade and has seen practically all the Seattle-Portland rivalry has to offer

Timbers need to put more pressure defensively. RSL is getting some easy touches near the goal.
